Hi @ShaneDT Indeed, you are right, and I can assure you, that enabling automatic product updates, for both the endpoint clients, and the management environment (both cloud / on premise) is our uppermost priority.

Yep, but the option is and has been there in the policy settings since I've been selling ESET (circa v6). If the option doesn't work it shouldn't be there, but it really is an option that we need. Every other vendor has had automatic program updates for aeons.

Hi @Cameron. Yes, you can easily setup a new ESMC server, deploy couple of endpoints. If you activate those endpoints, they will add to the total of your license, meaning if you for example have 100 licenses, and 95 are used on the "current ESMC", then you have 5 seats to use on the new ESMC instance.

I think this is resolved in just-released ESMC 7.2 where it look like this:

With EDTD, any file potentially carrying malware is submitted for analysis in the cloud where the file will be run. Based on the behavior analysis and evaluation by 3 different machine learning models, the file is then evaluated either as malicious, highly suspicious, suspicious and probably clean. EDTD can be configured to block access to files downloaded by browsers or email clients until a result of EDTD analysis is received.
Let's assume a spammed VBA office document with a malicious macro that is not covered by a detection.
Without EDTD: A user receives the email and opens the attachment. Since there's no detection for it yet, it will be run. Depending on what it does, further operations may be detected by some of the protection modules (e.g. if it downloads payload from a blocked url, web access protection will block the download). If it dropped payload and ran it, the payload could be detected by Advanced memory scanner, Deep Behavioral Inspection, etc. upon execution. It could also happen that it wouldn't do anything that could be detected by other protection modules. The user would need to wait until the next module (engine) update to get the malicious document detected.
With EDTD: The user receives the email. The attachment is sent to EDTD. The user attempts to open the attachment but EDTD blocks the operation (results from analysis have not been received yet). During the analysis the document is evaluated as malicious (e.g. the detection has been added in the meantime, the behavior of the document was suspicious, etc.). Once the analysis has completed, all machines in the organization are informed that the file is malicious and Endpoint on machines acts accordingly, ie. blocks access to the malicious document.

The Endpoint / EFSW license doesn't have the ECA flag. It seems you have a trial license so I'd suggest contacting the license issuer and asking for a license for "ESET Endpoint protection advanced cloud" which is Endpoint Security for ECA.

Maybe a "Stupid" idea, but is the Windows time set correctly? There is by default a check in ESET application, that compares the date of the issue of the latest detection update, against the system time. If the system time is set in the future, it could trigger this notification, but it´s just a guess.

Is the setting set to "Apply" ? If you request the configuration from the affected computer (one click action in computer details), what is the output? My suspicion is, that the "apply" flag is not correctly set.
Also, is the machine connecting correctly to the server? Meaning, if the settings correctly replicated.

    Many thanks MichalJ,
My Apply flags are correct but your 2nd picture -> Settings -> User Interface -> Protection Statuses -> Send to ESET Security Management Center -> Unticking the Operating system is not up to date, seems to have been the solution.
    Kind regards

Please remove sorting from column "Problem detail": Unfortunately there was an issue in console that results in such state where alerts without problem detail are not visible.

    Hello @Christoforos
The team responsible was able to determine the root cause of the issue.
Fix will be prepared, tested on test environment and deployed to production.
Consoles has been restarted to resolve the issue until permanently fixed, so you should be able to access your ECA right now.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused,
    Peter

    Thanks, it worked.
    @MartinK
It's really counterintuitive to put it there. But, whatever, you can leave it as is, but when someone tries to update Management Agent from "Dashboard -> ESET applications -> Outdated applications" (or from any other location applicable) then ESMC should create task "Upgrade Security Management Server Components" instead of saying "No ESET products, which can be updated automatically, have been found".

    Hey Lockbits,
Thanks for your interest. Of course SSO is a very useful feature. As of now, it is not strictly in our roadmap since not many customers has asked for it yet. We are constantly monitoring and prioritizing the requirements from the market and based on them additional development is scheduled. I would say this feature will be added later, but I cannot commit to a specific delivery time

    Hello @Adrianc

I just want to inform you that the ESET Endpoint Encryption Server does not have to be installed on a server machine.

In regards to your question, in my opinion it will be easier for you to backup the server, upgrade your system to the newest version and then simply restore from the backup.

    Hi ADS82,
    Thank you for contacting us.
Could you please be more specific and let us know what exactly would you like to achieve in as much detail as possible?
Unfortunately, your request is very concise and I cannot really imagine what is your usecase.
    Best regards,
    Ervin

Thanks to both, it was somewhat helpful.
I ended up deleting all the tasks from the queue for that particular laptop, then ran new tasks to deactivate, remove, delete... Now I got a license freed up and I am little happier.

Yes, it´s a regular procedure. In the future, I would recommend to start processing the license renewal during the month before the actual license expiration. I can check your license, if you want to, what´s the status of the renewal in our licensing system.

This is now resolved, in case it helps anyone I logged into the VA and enabled Webmin, I then accessed Webmin using a web browser, Servers section, ESMC then there was an option to repair ESMC Agent Connection. I entered "localhost" for the Hostname and the ESMC port then clicked the repair button and it fixed it and updated to 7.1 as I had this task queued from last year.

@Kirill Licenses for ESET products are not sold for a specific product version. Meaning, that with your current license you will be eligible to use the new V7 as well. Linux Endpoint product is the last one running the old version of architecture / scanning core, and it will be updated to V7 soon. We are already running a beta program (available here), V7 should not have this issue at all.

MichalJ received kudos from Camilo Diaz in Mac client pointed at Mirror server now unable to connect to ESMC
    Hello,
What you have to do is to configure the proxy for both the agent, and the mac security product.
In case the macs are showing not correct "last connected time" it would mean that they are not able to connect to the server at all, which is the thing you should troubleshoot. To confirm this, please check the status.html of one of the mac agents.
Also, what makes me confused is, that you mix topic of proxy and mirror. When you refer to mirror, do you mean actual offline generated mirror by mirror tool, or you utilize the proxy caching function. In this case, you just need to configure both agent / endpoint to communicate via proxy, and they should get the updates from there automatically.
Please note, that in ESMC 7.1 you can configure proxy details for the agent live installer, and also choose a policy that will be applied to the machine.
@Marcos can you please move this to "ERA" portion of the forum?
