    MichalJ gave kudos to Marcos in What happen when lisence expired
    14 days before your license is due ESET will start notifying you. After your license expires, modules will stop updating and after a couple of days Windows Defender will activate itself instead of ESET on Windows 10.

    The button is subject to future changes. We are aware that it's a bit confusing now.

    MichalJ gave kudos to MartinK in EFDE custom policy not showing under applied policies
    If my understanding is correct, you created installer where you included policy for EFDE? If so, it is actually expected behavior, as installer will just configure installed product to use settings from embedded policy, but to enforce settings, policy has to be applied also in console in a standard way. If so, solution would be to visit policies screen and assign required policy to groups or devices. In other words, policy as included in installers are intended primarily for initial configuration used until management agent is able to fetch policies and other properties from ESET PROTECT.

    We will also try to improve communication of this behavior so that is it more clear.

    Hello @noorigin,
    ECA is now ESET PROTECT Cloud, see https://support.eset.com/en/kb6889-eset-protect-cloudwhats-new for details.
    To use ESET PROTECT Cloud an eligible license is required https://www.eset.com/int/business/solutions/security-management/#purchase
    I would contact your ESET sales department to check what is the best option for you to upgrade your license to ESET PROTECT Cloud one...

    MichalJ received kudos from Ufoto in Access to multiple ESET Protect Cloud tenants
    Hello @Ufoto
    As of now, this is indeed not possible. I assume, that you are a reseller, and you have more than one customer, that has their own EPC instances. As of now, you will have to have a different aliases for every such instance, as one "EBA USER" can be linked only to one EBA instance, and one EPC Instance.
    We are working on a new reseller focus portal, which will allow you to have a "service level login" to all your customers EPC instances. So yes, there is plan to add multi instance access, however I can´t confirm exact timeline at this moment. But our target experience is similar to the one you are referring to.

    Michal

    MichalJ received kudos from Aryeh Goretsky in Is there a screenshot of ESET Endpoint Antivirus 8 GUI for Linux 8.0.3.0?
    Hello, for what purpose you would need that?
    I was checking the official documentation, and it does not include screenshots. We might ask our QA / PM to get some, but I am interested in understanding the purpose.
    But as a sneak peek:

    Thanks.

    MichalJ gave kudos to Marcos in How-to extend offline license clients?
    You will need to remove the old offline lic. files in EBA, create a new offline lic. file and use it to re-activate clients, e.g. via a product activation task.

    MichalJ gave kudos to MartinK in Manual VS Automatic ESET Protect Upgrade
    Component upgrade task upgrades only ESMC/EP components, as is ESET Management Agent, ESMC Server and ESMC WebConsole, but it does not upgrade other, especially third-party components as is Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Proxy or MS SQL Server.

    Thus benefit of performing manual upgrade using all-ine-one installer for Windows, or performing upgrade ot EP/ESMC Appliance using "migration" to new version, is that also third-party and and possibly other support tools are upgraded. Also note that manual upgrade is less prone to failures caused by environment issues, as are those network related, but also those caused by missing dependencies (for example minimal supported version of OS or database itself).

    My recommendation would be to perform manual upgrade, as it is fairly simple from users perspective, and it offers more control. Also I would recommend to perform database backup before doing so, but hat should be case also for automatic upgrade.

    MichalJ gave kudos to Rendekovic in Management of native encryption for Windows?
    Hello @Kostadin_k,
    EFDE for mac utilizes FileVault because there is no other way to FDE macOS. Apple prevents its system to use FDE from 3rd party vendors.
    EFDE for win is a different story. Microsoft allows for vendor´s proprietary encryption and we have this covered.
    So we are pretty much covered on both macOS and Windows. But yes, adding Bitlocker management to ESET Protect (Cloud) is an option, but even if we go this direction in the future, it will not work as seamlessly as you described. Taking over management of an already encrypted machine is more than complicated because of recovery password that belongs to a particular encrypted system. Migration of these recovery passwords from Active Directory (where Bitlocker stores them)  to our console followed by a seamless "takeover" of the machines by the console is very complicated (if even possible).
    At this moment, adding management of Bitlocker to our EFDE/EP(C) solution is not on our roadmap.

    Hello, currently such option is not available. I will check with a respective product manager, whether this is in the product backlog.

    MichalJ gave kudos to HMCIT in Future changes to ESET PROTECT (formerly ESET Security Management Center / ESET Remote Administrator)
    When we update our ESET Agents we find that we need to have all our machines reboot.  With the reboot option in the management console the machines just reboot with no warning.  Any open work is lost and the user is confused, thus generating a call to the help desk.
    Would it be possible to have a reboot notification when pushing a reboot on a machine.  ESET is finishing an update and will reboot in 30min.  Reboot later or reboot now.

    I reached out to support and was told to post this request here.

    MichalJ received kudos from Peter Randziak in Migrate from ERA 6.5 to EPC
    Hello,
    This will be a tricky. They should upgrade the server to ESMC 7.x, and also the agents to at least 7.x in order to allow the agents to connect to the cloud. ERA 6.x agent can´t communicate with ESET PROTECT Cloud, due to different replication protocol.  However, agent V7 can´t communicate with V6.5 ERA.
    So in this case, unless the server / agents are updated, the only idea would be agent redeployment, from the ESET PROTECT Cloud instance.

    Can you please send me your public license ID, (xxx-xxx-xxx) so we can check on our side? Also, have you tried adding the license to an EBA account and then adding the account to your ESET Protect?

    So I found out we didn't have an EBA account. So I created one and was able to add the license to it.
    I figured out how to link the EBA account to ESET Protect pretty quickly (it was easy), and now it shows the license as valid. ???
    Now I should be able to add the Exchange instance to ESET Protect. Well, I hope so anyway.

    MichalJ gave kudos to TomasP in Down for maintenance?
    Hello,
    We apologize for the unplanned downtime, our team of engineers is working on bringing EPC back online, some users can already access it again.
    Planned maintenance is usually announced in EBA. As for a status page to check any planned or unplanned downtimes, there is not currently one, but we are working on launching one in the future.
    Regards,
    Tomas

    Hello, thank you for your feedback. I will follow up with our product management / engineering team. I do agree, that such scriptable option should be available for a large scale/silent deployment, especially in MSP environment. Will let you know, why I hear back from them.

    MichalJ gave kudos to Jamil-soc in Create exclusion for code injection rule
    Hi Jeffry,

    Thank you for your message. The best way to exclude this detection would be to create an advanced exclusion.
    Below an example of an advanced exclusion to exclude code injection triggered by a legitimate process:
    <definition>
                <operations>
                    <operation type="CodeInjection">
                        <operator type="and">
                            <condition component="CodeInjectionInfo" property="CodeInjectionType" condition="is" value="ApcQueue" />
                            <condition component="FileItem" property="FileName" condition="is" value="ppwatchersvc64.exe" />
                            <condition component="FileItem" property="Path" condition="is" value="%PROGRAMFILES%\path\app\" />
                        </operator>
                    </operation>
                </operations>
    </definition>

    Change the FileName and Path accordingly. As mentioned above, this is an example, you can add or remove some conditions if needed. Then Select the rules being triggered and this should exclude the detections.
    I also noted that you location is the Netherlands. If you are looking for Dutch support or have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us via https://techcenter.eset.nl/nl/new-ticket

    Unified hardware report that will allow you to combine Device info + info about CPU / RAM / STORAGE is already implemented, and will be released in a next version of both ESET PROTECT / PROTECT CLOUD. For the combination with installed software details, I will follow up on this with our technical teams.

    Could you please check state of ESET Management Agent installed on the virtual appliance? Any chance you already tried to reboot whole appliance? Also was there any service interruption or operating system changes performed on a date that management agent connected for the last time? Previously we have seen that operating system updates or even changes of timezone/time o machine could result in this state.

    Yes, it should be possible. Please note, that the ESMC component upgrade task, targeted at the computer where ESMC is hosted )server itself) will update both server, and webconsole components, to the latest version 7.2

    Hi All,
    Its working from InTune *Endpoint using the command above. This is for the Live installer downloaded from our ESET Cloud Protect portal. Obviously you'll need to convert the .exe into a .intunewin file first, but it is now working and deploying without issue.
