I am also on a Lenovo laptop running Windows 7 Pro via the latest Chrome browser. After my October 2019 Windows security updates I had problems with ESET even being able to start at boot. I fixed it, but then had the "connection reset" problem where it seemed to break the network adapter. It all has to do with the Windows updates. After i got it all sorted out (and I can't even remember what I did) it was fine, then the December Windows security update came around. After that I had the same problems = so I uninstalled those Windows updates just to have a workable computer with ESET running and internet connected. I obviously need some help too....
