  1. Thank you Marcos but this is way beyond my tech ability and I'm afraid of something I might do which causes more problems. Many thanks for your help.
  2. This is showing on action center virus protection win 7 pro. Nod32 antivirus version 8.0.319.0. Do I need to make sure that the antivirus is recognised on my computer?
  3. I am getting these on a regular basis on many webpages on sites which I use all the time. (SEee attached screenshot) . THey come up when I click on a link. Help please
  4. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and everything is working OK now. Thanks for your help. You can consider this problem resiolved
  5. My antivirus wouln't update and I got a notification that the datbase might be corrupted and to uninstall and reinstall. I have uninstalled but when I try to reinstall I get "Communication Error. Please check your network connection and try again. This comes when I am about 60% in the install. I've tried o install 4 times but get the same notification. I would be very grateful for some help please
  6. Not sure how I set up automatic quarantine. Woukld I set up a scan with "Scan without cleaning" enabled to do this. If I did this would I get alerts/notifications giving options on what to do. Because of the size of the scan It's impossible to sit through a complete scan on my PC to take action on individual items or am I travelling down the wrong track here.
  7. I'm sorry to keep at this but I'm at my wits end as my computer has slowed down to a crawl I think this must be because of the PUAs in Detected Threats. I understabnd that I have no detected infections on my PC but it appears that I'm going to have to somehow clear all detedcted thrteats to get my computer back to normal. I had a look in Win System 32 to see if any of the win32 threats were in there but couldn't find any and I'm sure just using deletion is not the answer. Hope you can still help me.
  8. I have completed another scan on 11 April and have sent it via Sendspace. The download URL is hxxp://www.sendspace.com/file/fdldto Please let me know what you think after you have eneough time to check this. Many thanks
  9. I'm not sure what you are saying as the action column in Detected Threats shows 'unable to clean'
  10. I have checked on my Control Panel and haven't found anything which I haven't installed or I don't recognise. There area couple of items which I haven't used for some time and I have uninstalled them. I didn't find any PUAs with uninstallers. I have gone into Detected Threats and can see the PUAs in there. How can I uninstall or delete these and will this get my computer back to normal instead of crawl. I have attached a screenshot of part of the Detected Threats for you to look at. Thanks
  11. I'm not sure what "uninstall them via the Control Panel" Is this the computer Control Panel. If so, I cant find the PUAs. Could I use Cure It tfor this? My computer is definitely playing up at times and is slower than usual. I also looked in Eset Knowledge Base re "uninstallig PUAs" and found the following: What are Potentially Unwanted Applications? Potentially Unwanted Applications are programs that are not necessarily malicious, but may affect the performance, reliability or behavior of your computer. Such applications usually require consent for installation. Often computers will function differently after Potentially Unwanted Applications have been installed. Typical changes include: New windows with advertisements or warning messages which you have not previously seen appear on your computer. New processes are installed and run on your computer—often, they are hidden or masked to prevent casual discovery. The computer responds slowly or displays error messages when performing normal operations that previously worked correctly. This change is often due to increased use of system resources by the Potentially Unwanted Application. Changes in search results You may notice your computer making unusual connections in order to transmit your web-browsing habits or other metadata to remote servers, and to download advertisements and search results based on this information. NOTE:Removing Potentially Unwanted Applications may cause other programs that came with them to behave erratically or no longer work. I think I'm still a bit confused re PUAs.
  12. @marcos A bit of an overview of my thread. Does this mean that I now have no infected objects which was the problem I asked about in my original post? As these did not show in the later scan were these cleared when I shut down my computer and reastarted later. What do I actually have to look for if I get infected objects again an a scan. Might some of these get cleared at computer shutdown and then start. Is it possible some would show in quarantine? Should scans be run in no cleaning mode so as the scan logs have complete info on the scan if needed for investigation. I have no need to worry about PUAs as shown in Detected threats. I would like to thank you most sincerely for staying with me on this plus all the help you have provided,
  13. I used Sendspace and the download url is hxxp://www.sendspace.com/file/ypb4lw. Many thanks for for your guidance and for teachg me something else today.
