  1. I started to get a bit lost on topic, can you please remind me what is the problem.

Make that two. I also wonder if they indeed are "4 viruses" and not pup/pua detectons of some kind, if that option was checked before the online scanner was runned.

I don't know what to say or suggest as a next step because it's quite confusing, but I hope we will understand each other soon enough. :)

  2. What can i do to help to find a solution ?

This is what you can do: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb380/

The memory dump can help ESET find and fix the problem.

But let ekrn.exe's ram usage grow to let's say at least 500mb+ before you create the dump, the higher the usage is the better.

When done, you compress it and uploaded the dump to a safe location and share the download link with someone from ESET, by PM here on the forum with a moderator like Marcos for example.

  3. Hello Roger,

Yes, the leak is a known problem that affects some users. Not only when downloading, but also browsing and streaming videos in general.

Would be great if you could follow these instructions to create a full memory dump which can be sent to ESET for analysis.

Excluding flashget may be a temporary quick fix as doing so is also a risk, but no permanent fix.

  4. 722mb is not even near where it should be at.

The leak is a known issue. It seems to affects some user but not all. See the following 2 previous threads about it.

If you can, then follow these instructions to create a full memory dump.

  5. I can't believe how many AV's use Bitdefender's engine...

    Too many, IMO.

    ArcaBit

    Ashampoo

    BullGuard

    Chili Security

    Emsisoft

    eScan

    EstSoft (ALYac, Roboscan)

    F-Secure

    G DATA

    HAURI (ViRobot)

    IMEN

    Immunet

    Lavasoft (Ad-Aware)

    nProtect

    PSafe

    Qihoo

    Quick Heal (TS)

    SafeNSoft

    SecurityCoverage (SecureIT)

    SourceNext

    Tencent

    ThreatTrack Vipre

    TotalDefense

    TrustPort

    VirusChaser

All these, plus some more. :D

It really would be fun if some talented developers, small or big, tried making their own engine from scratch, it would be good for the market and the competiton. Nothing's wrong with BD's engine, it's even coded in assembly like ESET's engine IIRC, but seeing how many that goes with BD's engine, it starts getting ridiculous. But I am happy that ESET don't sell out their engine to 3'rd parties via some sdk, if you want to use an AV/AM with ESET's engine, then you go with ESET. Although, in BD's case, some of the products that use the BD engine is better than BD's own products, so in BD's case it may not be a bad idea letting others use their engine.

  6. Hi @SweX,

As far as I know some campaign (like Christmas) are global but is for new licenses,

    doesn't apply for renewal ones.

In some country's you have some deals or low prices when you want to do

something with your current license (upgrade, change, migrate, etc).

I believe your comment can be seen as a suggestion SweX, which is not

    necessarily going to happen.

I found this as example of one Christmas campaign at Philippines of 2012...

take a look at the "Terms and conditions".

    Hi, Gonzalo

Yes I know. I did not say that I expected special deals on that e.g lower renewal prices during christmas, no no. But good deals on new licenses e.g pay for 1yr get 2yrs. 50% off etc etc...

Literally, to sum it up. My local distributor/resellers websites looks the same all the time, same layout, same everything, all 365 days during the year. It doesn't matter if it is christmas, Black Friday or anything similar, they never have any deals.

And I can promise you, that there has never been a sight of any ESET robot in a christmas hat around christmas on their website, but I have seen that elsewhere, like the example you post.

So, if there indeed are global campaigns - then I must say that my local dist/reseller hides their offers extremely well. ^_^
