  1. Thank you for your answer. Even though I understand exclusions are available for potentially unwanted ans unsafe applications, I find this approach not convenient when it comes to add multiple known to be safe files to exclusion list. I guess enabling a bulk exclusion feature would be nice to have, given the user is sufficiently warned about the potential risks involved.
  2. Hi, I ran a Nod32 15.0.21.0 scan on a particular folder of my Windows 10 machine, and it ended up with few false positive that I'd like to exclude from detection so that I'm not bothered with them in the future anymore. At the end of the analyse (which I started with a right click on the folder, then 'Analyse') a window appear saying that detections have been found and asking me what I want to do. Here is the issue: the only choice I have is either to: _ clean _ delete _ do nothing If I choose 'clean', then the files are moved into the quarantine area. When I go to the quarantine area, I select all the elements and I right click, the 'restore and add to exclusion' option is grayed out ! I can select one by one all the elements and do 'restore and add to exclusion' but I don't want that as there is a lot of files and I don't have time for this. How can I have this option enabled back again? Thank you a lot for your help,
  3. OK you guys are probably right, I won't try to download it anymore, it would just be kind of stupid to do that. @rugk: I can't give you any response because NOD32 doesn't give any name in the message.
  4. I would like to download this file though and see by myself what's inside of it: if there is any kind of .exe file I won't open it for sure. So I tried what rugk suggested above and excluded Firefox from the protocol filtering. This time the download went further on, but at the very end Firefox gave me the same message "download blocked because etc ...". And I couldn't retrieve the file.
  5. This is some 3D stuff found on a blog: hxxp://uploaded.net/file/gftnv1nv/yen.2415.78-3D_Max_model_mouldings.rar
  6. I tried to download again the file and the problem occured again: see the screenshot (french):
  7. Thank you very much for your explanations. I understand better how things work with Eset now. @rugk: I will definitely not disable the protocol scanning. I can not post any screenshot because I chose to stop downloading the file: I didn't understand that a malware is way too risky compared to an adware. Thank you again
  8. Thank you for your answer. What leads me to confusion is that Eset tells me that the downloaded file seems to be infected by a virus or a malware, which lets me think that, possiblly, it may not be infected. Maybe this is the result of its heuristic engine and that it could be a false positive ? So again, I am looking for a way to decide by myself if I choose to continue the download or if I stop it. Do I have to understand that you are telling me it is impossible ? I tried several anti virus in the past years and, so far, I never saw one stopping a download without expressly asking me if I want to continue or not.
  9. Hello, I face a simple yet annoying problem: sometime when I download a file, it is blocked by Nod32 because (this is not the original message as I run Nod32 in french version so it may sound a bit different in the english version): "your download has been blocked because this file seems to be infected by a virus or a malware". I would like Nod32 to finish the download and then ask me what I want to do but I don't have the choice: my download is automatically aborted :/ How can I do that ? Thank you in advance,
  10. Thank you all for answers. I sent a message to ESEST support: they answered me to reinstall the product but it was not necessary because first I ran WiseRegistryCleaner, it found about 100 problems, I fixed them, I rebooted my machine and my tray ESET icon is here now Quite weird although ...
  11. Hi LarryF So as I thought it seems to be a Windows issue. It is comforting to know that ESET is still running fine and is still keeping my machine safe even if its tray icon is not showing up everytime. I hope ESET team will hear what you said here and try to implement the code in their future version. Thank you very much for your feedback LarryF.
  12. Thank you Arakasi, My problem seems to be fixed for now: ESET's notification area icon is back. It is strange because I didn't change anything in any settings ... I cross the fingers. Thank you again, I will follow your advice if the problem is occuring again and will post here again
  13. So what is the conclusion about it ? I must learn to do without ESET notification area icon ??!
