May I throw a minor spanner in the works here? Or at least I think that it might be. I have ESS running on 2 devices...one with a 5th Gen Intel processor & one with a 10th Gen processor. The 5th Gen system has received the pre-release version whilst the 10th Gen system remains at v15. Confused? Well, I am as they are on the same license. Does anyone here have any ideas? Cheers, Baldrick

Scheduled Scans

Simple one...rename the 'System Cleaner' to something more relavant/approrpiate to what it actually does, i.e., something like System Setting Restore or Suystem Setting Cleaner. Just calling it what it is now gives the impression that it is a system cleaner in the larger sense of the phrase, i.e., cleams temp files, registory, shortcuts, etc....like many of ESET's competition now bundle into their suites. -
Hi chileverde I had the same issue as you, I believe, in that the message manifested itself once I upgraded from 15.0.23.0 (was not seen at the earlier released). However, it was the upgrade to 15.1.12.0 that seemed to cause the issue. 🤔 Anyway, I raised this directly with ESET Support, sent in the collector logs but unfortunately was advised that they did not show much that was useful to diagnosing the issue. So a call with ESET Support was set up for them to remote into my system to do so me checking. That call never took place, for a number of reasons, but on the day of the call I noticed that Banking & Payment Protection was working again, i.e., no warning in red, etc., Not sure why, as I can see no change in version no. and I most certainly did not install/uninstall any apps on my system...so that is a mystery...but suffice to say that things are now OK at 15.1.12.0. So I would go ahead with the upgrade (having of course taken a further back up copy/image of your system just in case) and see if that works for you. Hope that helps? 😁 Regards, Baldrick

Hi there UPDATE: Doh, have just found that if one EDITS the password entry AND THEN SCROLLS to the bottom of the popup (NOT at all obvious) there is...nestling all by itself at the bottom of the popup a button marked....'Delete'...which does the job. What a supremely idiotic place for such an important option if one cannot resize/make the popup bigger. 🤪 Anyway, now sorted. Thanks, Baldrick

Hi All Just to advise that further to also logging this issue with SurfRight I have heard back from them as follows: "Technician (Support) Feb 1, 2022, 14:43 GMT+1 Hi, We have identified the issue and are going to fix this on our end, could you please update the ESET ticket also that we'll take mitigating measures for compatibility. Kind Regards, Rick HitmanPro Tech Support" So good news for all HMP.A/|ESET users...I will see if they update me with a release date/version for the fix their side...and if so will post back here with the information. Thank constexpr...for putting me right on a point or two, and for elaborating on the conjunction of the two applications. 👍 I think that would explain what I have been seeing, i.e., used to work/now it does not, etc. Interestingly enough, checking again late this last week I find that Secure Banking is now working again WITH HMP.A running, but now the issue is the Key Scrambling when typing in the browser protected by Secure Banking with HMP.A key scrambling also activated. Again, I know for a fact that I have had both enabled in the past with no adverse effect...but based on what you have kindly advised...this is an area that can change easily either way. So my solution, if I decide to continue with my HMP.A subscription, will be to disable the HMP.A key scrambler functionality, as ESET is the principal security layer, with HMP.A the secondary. Thanks again for the advice provided. Regards, Baldrick -

That is as it may be now but it used to be as I ran the two together with no issues until the aforementioned update at the back end of last year. So something has changed somewhere are rather than trying to fix it all we get is the lame 'not compatible' message which is the refuge of those that cannot be bothered. Until someone can prove to me that there has always been an incompatibility I will not believe it. And what is laughable is the HMP.A is actually sold as an addon to be used in conjunction with mainstream apps...and it has worked flawlessly with a number of ESET's competitors/is well regarded so it is a shame and a let down that no one can be bothered to make them co-exist. Just saying. 🤔 Baldrick -

Have just found what appears to be the issue with the Banking & Payment Protection that topped working back in late November/early December last year...for what appeared to be for no reason given that it had worked fine prior to a release of ESET that I installed around that time. The culprit is, in my case, a new (as of the end of last year) incompatibility between ESET & Hitman.Alert Pro. Thought I would let you know in case anyone else with the issue uses that combo. Not sure if the issue was caused by the ESET release or an HMP.A Prop release around the similar time. I am reporting it to SurfRight, in case it is on their side and it is something that they can fix...hopefully as I much like the combo and would hate to have to lose one of the apps. Regards, Baldrick -
This whole issue is still very haphazard for me...one minute I get the warning and then for no rhyme or reason things go back to normal...and the period of abnormality does not appear to be fixed. I have the same situation on 2 systems which leads me to believe that it is not based on the installation of ESET.

Have been monitoring this one over the last few weeks and it seems very sporadic. Can start anywhere between 35 & 45 minutes after boot...but then seems to correct itself at some point thereafter (difficult to precise exactly when this happens without sitting there permanently and watching the icon). And then it may, again, manifest itself a few hours after boot and and then once again disappear/correct itself. So really no idea as to what is going on. Merry Christmas.

Hi Drew Funny that you shoulkd mention this but whilst the issue has not disappeared completely on my systems it occurring has diminished significantly to such a point that it can be days rather than hours before another one might come around. Like you say...not sure why...I have certainly done nothing at all to my systems that might be a factor...methinks something in the backoffice has changed.

Hi Marcos Many thanks for the guidance...I will certainly try what you have suggested. The challenge is that the occurrence of the issue seems to be even more sporadic than I thought it is. As such I do not really want to run logging for a while in the hope that the issue occurs. So, is it possible/useful to carry out what you suggest once one notices that the issue has occurred? Will any data gathered this way be of any use? Thanks in advance. Baldrick
