  1. Very helpful and informative post Arakasi. Many thanks. Personally, I run Mbam alongside Eset in realtime. As they say, it is designed to work with internet security suites - not in place of.
  2. Surprised to read your post ldm. I was previously with Kaspersky and the daily updates from them seemed to take forever! Everyone blamed their servers. My installation with eset was lightning fast, and so has been the daily updates so far. If you google 'slow internet security updates' you'll find most of the leading security suites being complained about by their users. Notably KIS and Norton, being the worst offenders. Assumed you uninstalled your old security completely? I've always used CCleaner :- hxxp://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ to clean the registry after uninstalling any program. (It's free! and safe) - Gets rid of the remnants that might cause conflict with a replacement. Apart from that, can't suggest anything else.
  3. Hi peace, Just to say I've found that Malwarebytes works well together with Eset. Previously had it running alongside Kaspersky for 3 years with no problems at all before switching to Eset. Followed hxxp://forums.tweakarena.com/showthread.php?t=53 to set up exclusions in each program to make sure there is no conflict. Hope this helps.
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys. Much appreciated. And yes, Ryan Hayward, lightweight and zippy are good adjectives for Eset 7. Looking forward to participating in the forum.
  5. Hiya all. Just joined with Eset after having been with Kaspersky for the past 3 years. The only 'con' with KIS was that it has become top-heavy. Bloated. It was really slowing my PC's down. I have a desktop with Vista and Laptop with Windows 7. Had a good search into the user reviews of most of the security suites and here I am. Swayed by the reports of a non intrusive yet reliable security system. So pleased I switched over. Browsing back to as it should be. No more hanging and freezing websites. Feels like I have two new computers! Surfing with a smile again. Long may it continue. Also have Malwarebytes. They seem to be working okay together with the exclusions set in the 'ignore' lists. Oh. I'm an early retired old codger/git. And a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket holder. No quips, thanks. Cheers guys.
