  1. I've just uninstalled NOD32 yet again to make sure that was the cause of my issues. With it installed and Battlefield 4 downloading at 450-500kbs using the Origin client, I was unable to access ANY pages on the internet with my browser including this very forum and that was with protocol filtering turned off. 5 minutes later after the uninstall/restart of my PC, with battlefield 4 downloading at the same speeds, web pages including youtube videos, facebook and windows email client all load up perfectly. I'm really at a complete lose here. I would hate to give up on NOD32. I had the previous version for 3 years between 2010-13 without a glitch but it cannot be interfering with how I use my computer. I would understand if pages load up slower but to not load at all is simply unacceptable to me. Please send me the instructions and I'll give it another go. EDIT: Currently watching a video off youtube and my download has in no way slowed down as far as I can tell. A few more details about my situation. This PC was purchased brand new with the specs listed below. Took delivery of it on the 21st of this month. Did a clean install of windows 8.1 and indiviually installed all the required drivers. After which, NOD32 was one of the first programs I installed onto it. This issue I'm having happened right from the get go. I actually thought something was wrong with my ASUS USB-N13 adaptor and thus went out and bought a new Linksy AE1200 which made no differences. The PC is not overclocked in any ways and all windows updates have been installed to the latest. As I had detailed above, I have so far uninstalled and reinstalled NOD32 thrice and each time it removed the problem. CPU: i5 4670K Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H RAM: G.Skill Ares F3-1866C9D-8GAB 8GB (2x4GB) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SSD: Samsung 840 EVO Series 250GB HDD: Seagate 2TB OS: Windows 8.1
  2. I've done more testing and it seems turning off protocol filtering seems to have made surfing the net possible when downloading. It's still not ideal because some pages still need refreshing (sometimes a couple dozen refreshes before it loads) and pictures are often not loaded. Applications which require a connection such as email clients and in app updates are still struggling to connect. Is there someone from ESET whom I can get some advice on this issue from? I would hate to have to disable web access protection and anti phishing and increase my risk just to be able to get on the net. Much appreciated.
  3. No other security programs are running. I've got windows firewall turned on and that's it. I've got battlefield 4 downloading right now and it's impossible to load pages. I get directed to the "server not found" page instantaneously when I try to open up a page. Even spellcheck is not working. But the rest of the devices in my house load everything fine including app downloads and youtube videos.
  4. I'm sad to report I'm still having trouble loading pages when downloading. Pages still need some refreshing to load and quite a few sites are missing pictures even when they do load up. I am really at a lose here since I never had issues with NOD32 v4 back when I had it. Skipped a couple of generation because I didn't renew for the past year but whatever is causing this is infuriating.
  5. Here are the installed modules. Virus signature database: 9216 (20131226) Rapid Response module: 3478 (20131226) Update module: 1047 (20131023) Antivirus and antispyware scanner module: 1416 (20131203) Advanced heuristics module: 1145 (20131121) Archive support module: 1187 (20131205) Cleaner module: 1080 (20131029) Anti-Stealth support module: 1056 (20131112) ESET SysInspector module: 1239 (20131022) Real-time file system protection module: 1006 (20110921) Translation support module: 1131 (20131004) HIPS support module: 1106B (20131210) Internet protection module: 1094 (20131204) Database module: 1044 (20131108) I'm using windows 8.1 64bit. I've actually tried 2 different USB adaptors(ASUS USB-N13 and Linksy AE1200) with the same results because I thought that was the issue. And even when pages do load with enough refreshing, pictures are often left unloaded. The issue is at it's worst with utorrent downloading at the background. EDIT: Turning off protocol filtering seems to have did the trick but I'll probably need a day to be sure. I'll keep you guys updated with the regards to that. But how does disabling web access protection and anti-phishing protection impact me in terms of security? Will NOD32 still be able to detect trojans and what nots during my daily usage? Or am I more at risk?
  6. My computer is connected to my home wifi and with NOD32 v7 installed. It is however impossible to access the internet when something is downloading in the background. Pages are not even slower to load but it's often not loading at all. Steam, torrents, direct downloads all have the same effect. Any program that requires an internet access is also struggling to get connected. For example, any downloads make it impossible for Steam to load it's online store and windows live mail client also finds it impossible to fetch new emails. I've tried the protocol filtering trick by adding my internet browser, utorrent, mail, steam to be excluded but it hasn't helped at all. Also tried disabling web access protection which also did not help. Also tried different browsers to no avail. The issue is only solved when I uninstalled NOD32 altogether. I've actually done that twice just to make sure it wasn't something else. It's also not a bandwidth issue because all the other devices in my house including another desktop, laptop, phone all work perfectly with or without downloads running be it from this or other computers. This is all very frustrating and I'm hopping to get some help here before I speak to support. Just got a 3 year subscription and all.
