  1. I wonder of it's because of EOL? 'It seems' it's causing registry problems. Can anything be done or do I have to ditch Nod32? Dave
  2. Well.... I giffup. Anyone with Gremlin spray? It happened again..... stuck at Win32_ReliabilityRecords.Logfile="System",RecordNumber=19850,Time, I waited some five minutes and give up. Then I tried again, no problem, it hung about five seconds or so and then flew through. And that five seconds was much shorter than usual. Sorry folks, just one of them things, curious what causes it though..... glad to know it just isn't me. Matter considered closed I guess. Thank you for your time, Dave
  3. Sorry for delay. When scanning Reliability records it seems to hang on one particular spot, sometimes it will hang, as you say if you wait it will continue, I did a scan the other day, I waited, waited and waited so I cancelled the scan because it 'seemed' much longer than usual, upon re-trying it happened again... just wouldn't budge. I guess if you want a more accurate description, I'll do another scan but will make a note of whatever happens.... may be I'm better waiting longer, I'll try again later, so will get back, thanks. Dave
  4. Hi, When scanning the scan 'hangs' on scanning reliability records, do I have to clear them out, if so please refresh my memory how to?? Thanks, Dave
  5. Ah, thats good to know..... many thanks for that, I've removed the on-line scanner, I'll stick to my Nod32. Matter now closed, all the best Marco. Dave
  6. Sorry Marcos I'm still no wiser-: Does NOD32 antivirus detect keyloggers? Is what I wanted to know. I take it from your comment that NOD32 antivirus once updated is just the same as this on-line scanner, 'if' this is the case then it is pointless having two on and will remove it.
  7. I run Nod32 antivirus on Win7 x64 pro, I thought I'd do a scan for keyloggers not knowing if Nod32 detected these so. I thought I'd give the On-line scanner a try, this scan 'seemed' to me to take longer. The end result came out clean after scanning the main drive and a storage drive.... am I wasting my time running both?? While here, does NOD32 detect keyloggers, not that any strange 'goings on' was happening just that I thought I'd do a scan for any? Thanks, Dave
  8. Yes, I found it, I wasn't scrolling down, I'm happy again thanks to itman, pretty sure it's not the first time itman helped me out. I'm happy again now, and the problem is solved - case closed. Dave
  9. Are you saying I can not turn this warning off? If so, since I have just renewed my license, what are the chance's of cancelling my license and getting a refund? Dave
  10. I am running Windows 7, I am not and will not update the operating system. Is there a way to turn 'Your operating system is out of date' off? If not then I will terminate my Nod 32 license. Thanks Dave.
  11. Thanks Marcos....... just an idea I had. Dave.
  12. What are the views of having a lifetime license for Eset products? If there was I might be interested. Dave
  13. Hi itman. Thank you, you've saved me again, I couldn't find the box, when I did it wasn't ticked, took sometime to find the box, I wasn't looking in the right place.... set and forget is the word, if only the .XML had imported! Guess we'll see how it goes, thanks you again. Good luck, Dave.
  14. I had to re-install Nod32 AV version 14.1.20.0 because it wouldn't update for some reason or other, before doing so I exported the .XML settings. I then re-installed and it wouldn't let import the .XML setting file and had to manually set up, the installation appears to be running fine and updating..... but there is no 'update pop-up message' appearing. I tried looking in 'Advance set up', all I can see regarding this is the message time out setting. Has anything changed or am I missing something? Thanks, Dave
  15. Thank's to Marcos and itman for the replies, not to worry, thanks for trying. Regard's to all, Dave.
  16. I've downloaded the two KB stack files from MS catalogue as I did with my desktop but only one would go in..... the other one I got 'Not campatible with this machine' - I tried putting it in first and then last I haven't tried downloading the entire updates.... is there a 'trusted' link. I don't know why I bother with it to be honest, it does have Win. Defender which I never used. This machine as I said is not all that important, the reason for posting was hoping of a 'quick fix'.... I take it the two KB files that are needed would also be needed for Win 7 Starter pack. Ah well, thanks for trying Marcos.... should I find a fix I'll update here. Dave
  17. I have a Acer Aspire D255E notepad with Win 7. Starter Edition. It did have Nod32 on that worked inspite of EOL warning. I tried updating from the window that popped up and it loaded to my surprise Nod32 Security no problem..... I uninstalled it and now I'm 'zapped' - no AV. It would be nice to be able to get Nod32 AV working again inspite the machine's slowness. I had a similar problem with my Win 7 pro desktop when Nod32 reached EOL, thanks to this forum that was resolved by loading two KB files.... so I tried doing the same. I could only load KB976902 and not the KB4474419, I tried all ways, KB447419 just would not load. I tried installing MS updates but kept getting Error 80072EFE. This is just a 'odd job machine', since I pay for two licenses it would be nice to get Nod32 running again if at all possible... I reckon the dustbin would give grief if I clodded it in, not what I would call 'Speedy'. I've run out of idea's here without trying to revert to factory default image. Would anyone have any clues whats going on? Thanks, Dave
  18. Thanks for your solid patience you are showing.... I've never done any re-installs since I always keep a clone. YES I have ran disc clean up in the past. There is nothing in Update History, there was a few I can remember seeing, it say's that 'I haven't tried to install any'..... I'm flummoxed now, surely a drive wipe shouldn't clean them out. When running update I get error 'Windows could not search for new updates showing error code 80080005 underneath. Is this service 'live' or is the server no longer in use? Dave Edit: Searching for installed updates come's up blank - zilch...!
  19. What is going on here? The link above sometimes works and sometimes doesn't AND this is where I got those files from! Dave
  20. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=windows+7+hotfix Dave
  21. Ah, it sticks a file on C drive I did not know this..... I am sorry, I'll snip the rest here is the result-: Hotfix(s): N/A Now this explains a lot... there isn't any! So what to do now The OS is genuine, Win 7 pro SP1, version 6.1 x64, pretty sure this is the answer you are seeking. Dave
  22. Please re-read my post again Marcos..... I ran CMD as Administrator, that is running CMD elevated isn't it? I get ' Loading Hotfix Information ...' nothing comes up it reverts to C:\windows\system32> Is this what it does when it finds nothing or is something stopping the scan? Dave
  23. I can't understand....! Nothing comes up, I ran CMD as Admin. and typed systeminfo > c:\updates.txt, sure did scan but produced no results, I tried again but I 'copied and paste' and got same result - scans but finds nothing reverting back to input command. I KNOW there should be some in there, which ones I can't say, I doubled checked I'm running Win 7 pro Sp1 6.1 x64 bit and shows a valid installation. Dave
  24. That's where I looked before nothing - completely empty nor could I see them anywhere even with hidden files exposed....! There was some there the last time I looked I'm pretty sure, don't ask me which ones though, I've been snookered here. Dave
  25. I'm pretty sure I did, I seem to think I went back to get the other file and it took three attempts as the site wouldn't open. Before even thinking of running ANY file I do right click them and let Nod32 do a scan first, they came up clean. I doubled clicked them and also right clicked them and clicked 'Open with installer, I tried them starting with KB4490628 then KB4474419, just to be sure I reversed the order, in both cases I got update not applicable. I'm gonna try Marcos idea of un installing using Eset tool in safe mode and then updating to the new version.... somehow I can't see that working - sorry to Marcos for the delay in trying this, just that I never mess with a working drive. My license expires 26/12 so I've got a little time to play. Dave
