  1. If you bought ESET product in retail with ESET activation code, you should activate it follwing this ESET KB article: https://support.eset.com/kb2664/ If you did so, you must have received your ESET username/password and Licence Key to your e-mail adress, and if in the meantime you have lost this email (licence data) -> proceed to earlier mentioned ESET lost licence web page....
  2. Follow this procedure : https://support.eset.com/kb32/
  3. You need to contact your local ESET distributer/reseller who sold this licecne to you to check it's user/pwd, or go directly to this support page: https://www.eset.com/us/support/lost-license/ to retrieve needed data.
  4. Then you should follow the instructions from this ESET KB article: https://support.eset.com/kb2664/ (Register your ESET product online with a serial number or retail key)
  5. I have question about New Update Pane - is it possible to make "Check For Updates" icon and text more visible (significant)? Now for careless users (read - majority of them) it looks like there is no "Check For Updates", and I'm afraid that we are going to have lot of such questions - like: "where is now this "Update now" button", or "why have you need to hide it?"
  6. I just have connected to one of our customers with same problem. 1) This is not ESET message, it is Microsoft Windows 10 Security and Maintenance message, and is (by Windows) generated in endless loop. 2) Message was generated by Security and Maintenance of Windows 10 after his license expired. 3) Disabling messages about virus protection helped. In any case I wouldn't recommend it as permanent solution - instead just as first aid until license is renewed or customer installs some other antivirus solution, and then return these settings to default.
  7. You can check this: hxxp://www.eset.com/int/business/virtualization-security/vmware/
  8. We had one similar case. Please uninstall ESET Smart Security using ESET Uninstall tool (see ESET KB2289 - hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2289/) Then install it again. It helped us.
  9. Thank you peteyt. Safe mode -> ESET Uninstaller -> and then install again, and now everything works...
  10. Yes. We are using it all the time with our customers and works well.. Just in some "strange" cases uninstall does not work and then you should use ESET Uninstall Utility. With "strange" cases I'm thinking about: where are two or more AV product installed at same time at same computer. Most probelmas we had with Symantec products - even when it looks like they are uninstalled they left lot of garbage Where malware destroyed part of Windows OS (like: disable BFE) There usualy helps sfc /scannow or some of Microsoft FixIt programs Where another program changed rights in Registry HKL
  11. For now (and version 5) you should check this ESET KB article: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3040
  12. For all of you who don't see ESET icon in system tray, there is ESET KB article "How do I display the ESET icon in my Windows system tray" ... And - it works for all Windows version supported from Microsoft (V7, 8.x and 10.x)
  13. Surfer1000, How often do you open ESET program main screen? Because of my job, I have it open every day all the time, and have no problem with it's size. When I'm checking something usually it's full screen. On my home computers, I don't open it at all (maybe if there is some threat, or when it's time to renew license ) - and again have no problem with it's size. And, all this time I'm using it, and also in communication with people who have ESET products on their computers, there was no one complaining about it's size on screen, regardles of version of their products...
  14. @siltdotstrider (1) Source of this error is problem with Internet connection during virus signature database update (VDBL). To solve it follow this advice: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN537 (2) For your protection scheduled update of VDBL is set to start as soon as possible when you start computer, and please don't mess with this According to good data, every day we have more then 300000 (yeah, that's three hundred thousand, you read it correct) NEW nasty malware samples spreading around, so your update VDBL from yesterday is not enough to protect you t
  15. Did you try to listen to this ESET advice (from Knowledgebase): hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN117
  16. Please follow advice from this ESET KB article: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN537 ( Undocumented Serious Error and cannot update the virus signature database in ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus)

  18. Hi, We are reading posts regarding release of new versions ESET Mobile Security for Android on Google and on Amazon. But there is not a word about updates of this product on ESET.com According to ESET Team posts and check on ESET download site, we now have this situation with versions: 3.0.964 - On Google Play 3.0.1022 - On Amazon.com 3.0.882.0 - On ESET.com Why are there three different versions of same program? It' s confusing for customers, and even more for us who need to support them...
  19. Hello, Marcus is right, this error should be checked seriously. But from our part we have seen lot of similar cases, where some malware was present on computer prior to installation of ESET. Specially in the last couple of months we have seen lot of cases with Necurs infection. If you have some time first check for it - with ESET Necurs cleaner tool . If you are lucky it may save you some time...
  20. Usually, this should help: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN532

  22. Hi, We noticed same problems with Symantec/Norton products. They are connected with user rights on Registry (Symantec messes with them too), and their regular uninstaller does not turn this back in regular status :-( So only (regular) solution for problems with Symantec is: use their uninstaller. Sorry to any ex Symantec user -> bad luck ...
  23. Hi, This seems to be long time known problem with ESET. We are calling it "ESET BIOS batery problem", because it usualy happens when BIOS batery is empty. Sometime it also happens when user changes System date to some old date (remember bookkeepers ). Once I even saw this when some adware/spyware changed System date Last year mr. Gorecky wrote here on forum good workaraound solution about it, hope it can help someone else. We hope that ESET product guys are going to solve this one day...
