False positives detection on website video players?
Nightowl replied to Mr.Wong's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
These websites tend to have lot of advertising , while their ads might contain some kind of JS loads , even if the website is safe , it might be malicious ads' servers , or might be the website is hijacked. Keep your uMatrix , it's good -

Double check that local IP Address that you have : 192.168.1.105 , What is that device , what it is doing? For my experience with ESET , If you make your own certificate , ESET will go crazy trying to block it , even if you allow it , it will just not work unless you add it to the whitelist , but in your case as you said that you have no SSL certificates running , then double check that device. Your Chrome is making communications to 192.168.1.105 -

Do you have anything that runs an SSL certificate inside your local network? -
False positives detection on website video players?

With the uMatrix statement that you have said , means that when uMatrix is blocking JS then ESET detects nothing because there are no JS being loaded , while you go to Edge and have JS loaded , then ESET blocks JS script from loading. I believe that the website may have malicious codes. -

ESET blocking systemrequirementslab in AMD Catalyst
Nightowl replied to Nightowl's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
No I don't use it , it's being used by AMD , I am glad that ESET is blocking it , I guess I can know if my PC can run a game or not , I don't need their software for that. -
Exclude bittorent

Just go with a torrent client that won't get flagged for PUA or something else Try to google for Deluge or Qbitorrent. -
ESET blocking systemrequirementslab in AMD Catalyst
Nightowl replied to Nightowl's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
In the Games tab , AMD tries to put the so called "recommended" settings for your game , so I believe Radeon do use SysReqLabs in order to find the optimal settings for your PC and the game. I know that website from long time ago , It was more used in the XP days , but still hated it since that day that I knew it , I don't care that it's being blocked by ESET , but it prevents the software from connecting to the internet and Radeon thinks that there is no internet (obviously because ESET is blocking it) -
Brave Browser not protected by anti-phishing
Nightowl replied to Sammo's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
Brave is a fork off from Chromium with added blocker, Switch to Firefox and add uBlock Origin , or if you search in Google you could find a way to install Chromium in Windows and then just add the blocker and you have a blue Brave browser -
Thanks for that itman , I was trying to remember the name of O&O software , I completely forgot about it and Cortana drove me crazy recently , trying to disable it every way I can , but Cortana is mighty keeps resurrecting itself haha Thanks!

I believe the customer support or a forum staff can help you with your license information Thank you and all the best to you also
-
I have resolved it , forum staff can help you with this , but in my case I had to buy a license directly from ESET or direct eset partner , and not any other reseller , someone will reply to you about this matter , don't worry. When you buy from a direct partner or directly from ESET , you will be provided with both the username and the cd-key.

ESET blocking systemrequirementslab in AMD Catalyst
Nightowl replied to Nightowl's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
Try to access the website that I've posted somewhere with Web-Filter enabled , it will blocked the access as PUA But when it happens at home , I do enter the AMD Catalyst to enable Radeon Chill for a specific game , so ESET blocks the attempt to connect to SysReqLabs by AMD Catalyst even though that I am not trying to run the SysReq test , but it seems that AMD catalyst will attempt to connect to SysLabs servers automatically. It seems that I am getting the block because I have PUA enabled and you don't? -
AV-Comparatives Real-World Protection Test February-June 2018
Nightowl replied to Sammo's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
No I am not defending anyone ,as I don't work for them or have a share in their income , but I told you I have tried another security solutions , from Norton to Trend Micro , Panda , Kaspersky , Avast , Avira , whatever you want , I've been only comfortable with ESET , and to be honest most of the times ESET was able to block/defend my machines from whatever place I am entering, the product never disappointed me, and even if something crossed under their eyes , it happens Even though that AVs gets smarter each day , malware also will become smarter and evade detection and AVs , as both sides of the developers are smart , It's like a race. And about HIPS , Try to use Log all blocked attempts and your logs of HIPS will be filled with blocked records. -
AV-Comparatives Real-World Protection Test February-June 2018
Nightowl replied to Sammo's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus
ESET along with uBlock and uMatrix(if you are that much paranoid) is more than enough for me I have used ESET for many years , I never had any trouble with it , but to be honest I've tried another Security solutions and I've always wanted to try Kaspersky , for for it's heaviness I was forced to leave it just to be back to ESET , ESET has something special with it's lightness or I don't know maybe it's the years of usage that will make you keep using the same product , but why change it when you are happy with it? But in your case novicee , If I were you and I see that I am that mad at ESET, I would just change them If I were you, there is no point to keep arguing that there are better products at the market, I guess they are doing their best also -
When you enter AMD Catalyst and then goes to the Games tab where you load your profiles for the game , AMD Catalyst will try to make connection to SysReqLabs , and ESET drops the connection It can be replicated by going to this website : https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri Or by going to Games tab in AMD catalyst No I am not trying to unblock the website or something , but I thought that I will report that to you.

It seems that I have been sold a used license , I will need to contact the seller about that Thanks for your help everyone. You can close the topic if you'd like.
-
I have managed to get my old license to work again , but I still have a cd-key that I need to switch to username and password I will wait for ESET staff to reply , thanks @Podrska2NORT
-
Yes I know that my friend , but unfortunately I buy only cd-keys , so I am only provided with cd-keys , but nevermind the first license I have it , but I can no more use it because it's still stuck on my old installation second license I have it but I have it without the username and password , and ESET only provides a script that will generate cd-key if you have username and password and not the opposite. I tried registering the licenses but I get error with registration please contact support. I am just waiting for ESET Staff to reply to me , they can provide with user and password. I just wish that ESET Linux do have the option for cd-keys I would have been saved from all of this hassle ..

Anyone?

uTorrent do put some ads software with their installation as far as I remember I prefer Deluge or Qbitorrent , Google for them , ESET will not detect them as PUA because they don't include ads or toolbars in their installers.

I've checked at home I have the same thing with the APIPA being denied a lot of times , but thanks for the explanation ITMAN but at home I have the Samsung Smart TV going crazy trying to communicate with my computer and I just hate that , I want to isolate that thing in a network alone, but also ESET is denying most of the things by Windows even though it's set as Automatic.
