Update forces full CPU freq
Nightowl replied to Nightowl's topic in ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktop
You are right , it utilizes 100% of one core , but I don't know it manages to spin off my fans every check for update , thank you , it was my mistake , I believe it's something related to the model of the computer unrelated question , is there something coming up for Linux Desktop in the near time ? -
When update is started automatically or manually the CPU is risen to full freq and the fans start to spin at full speed Release 18.04.3 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit

In this link the databases are unclickable : https://www.virusradar.com/en/update/info/ I don't know if it's under maintenance or a bug , just thought to report.

Thank you for both sites , both are useful I didn't know about them

is this a false or real alarm from ESET?
Nightowl replied to moeetee's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
Save your time with this matter , switch to Deluge or qBittorrent, both are open-source and shouldn't install anything else with your client -
Yes I did read the comments this is why I said it might be a FP , never heard about HA , I will try them result is here : https://www.hybrid-analysis.com/sample/6b2510078aa894478e1b8ea051c452a865eec6990fed114cfbab6507f7b2424d

I've scanned the installer multiple times , no I didn't try to install the software itself , but I still have the installer HitmanPro picks it up as a trojan (the installer) , ESET is not picking up , but I tried to send the sample 2 times , once from product gui and second time from email. But argh I get it now , it's running a TASKKILL on it self , because incase this was an update so it would terminate the application inorder to be able to install the update , what this has to do with the naming of COIN MINER
-
This software is considered as CoinMiner by different AVs and also Kaspersky , I have sent the sample 2 times but I never got any reply about it HitmanPro also picks it up because it uses Kaspersky database https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/6b2510078aa894478e1b8ea051c452a865eec6990fed114cfbab6507f7b2424d/detection Could be that a false positive by other AVs ?

My own website shows in backlist by ESET, pls help

But in VirusTotal , ESET is not detecting anything in the website. -

Nightowl replied to majawad's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
I've noticed it happens on every device that I install ESET on and activate trial license , it might be that it takes time for LG servers to notice the new username and password. -
You are welcome :)

There should be in the source page a <_script src> redirection to somekind of a script hosted somewhere else like in Azure,Amazon or whatever, try to look for them.

CamScanner detected as trojan downloader (ESET Mobile)
Nightowl replied to Nightowl's topic in Malware Finding and Cleaning
But the app has million of downloads and is listed as Editor's Choice , you can see in the link of the first post , it's weird.. One phone it was detected as trojan by ESET Second phone no detection by ESET -
Usually it helps to disable the "Administrator" account and make another one with another name other than Administrator .. maybe something like spiderman

You could say that it's normal behaviour yes , because Chrome do gather lot of data about your browsing etc... So as a user concerned for his/her privacy while browsing , yes they might choose to stop using Chrome for that. Here is an quite old post for what Chrome does send to Google from your personal data : https://lifehacker.com/what-data-of-mine-does-chrome-send-to-google-5763452
