  1. The IMAP server is external, I just get the mail from there. But it looks like I got it to work now, maybe the PC restart also helped. Now ESET moves the virus e-mails correctly to the infected folder. Very good, Kaspersky cannot do this. What confused me in addition is the fact that it looks like Outlook does not support IMAP IDLE (IMAP push) on Windows but this is supported on Mac). This means no immediate notifications when new mail arrives... So only if the Inbox folder is selected (which is not the case if I am working with my Exchange account at the same time) only then Outlook receives new mail. A small workaround is setting the poll interval to 1 minute: https://www.msoutlook.info/question/check-for-new-email-frequency It is still not optimal, but it seems to be a stupid Microsoft issue.
  2. Hi! I wonder if ESET can also remove e-mail viruses from the IMAP server. My first tests with an IMAP account in Outlook 2016 did not work, i.e. ESET disinfects the e-mail but if you open it from another client the virus is still there because it remains on the server. So it looks like it is not removed on the IMAP server but only locally. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks, Anguel
  3. Well, my idea was to get an e-mail when some ESET components don't work properly on family member PCs but not every time they get a virus through e-mail and ESET cleans it. As far as I see this is not possible to do.
  4. Yes, but I set it to "critical" and still get e-mails about every e-mail virus detection. This is what I don't understand...
  5. Thanks a lot, now it is non-zero and e-mails are properly scanned on arrival. I will check this if the problem occurs again.
  6. Hi! During my evaluation of EIS I set up e-mail notifications. This works so far, however I always get an e-mail when a virus is detected in e-mails. This happens although I set the notification level e.g. to critical. Is this expected? I thought this would only send me notifications when program modules have problems. Or is virus detection always considered as critical event? Anguel
  7. Thank you for the reply. Today I tested again without changing anything and suddenly everything works fine! I can't tell if the problem was caused by some Outlook update (one was installed yesterday) or something different, I had also restarted the PC yesterday but this did not help. Now everything is as expected and I really like ESET so far. Thank you once again, Anguel
  8. Hi! I have a hosted Exchange 2013 e-mail account at my provider and I use Microsoft Outlook 2016 to access it on my PC. I am currently evaluating ESET Internet Security 11 because I like its extensive Outlook support but I have a problem: When I send test viruses (e.g. EICAR in RAR-archive) to my e-mail address ESET does not detect the virus e-mail immediately when they arrive in Outlook 2016. Even if I click on the email the virus is still not detected although all archive scan options etc. are turned on. It looks like I need to restart Outlook to make ESET then detect the test virus and move it to the infected items folder. Is this behavior expected? BTW, I use Kaspersky at work and it detects viruses immediately when they arrive in Outlook, I don't even have to open the email. So I expected ESET to be able to do this too. Any help is welcome and thanks in advance. Anguel
