  1. It's finally appeared after several attempts. Hopefully everything will work correctly now.
  2. Still no sign of the phantom account appearing on my Windows 10 laptop. I thought that problem had been fixed with the latest release.
  3. I've sent you the information you requested in a PM. Regards BrianE
  4. It's working now. Are you able to tell me what was the problem and did it have anything to do with using "#" in my password (strange if it did, because the other devices didn't have any such problems)?
  5. Lately I have been finding that when I try to log in to My ESET from a saved bookmark, nothing happens after I insert my log-in details and yet it works from the link in a Google search. I have tried updating the bookmark and also using both Chrome and Firefox, but the same thing happens. Another curious aspect of this is, if I close the blank page after trying to log in from my saved bookmark and then go back to Google and click on the My ESET link, I don't have to re-enter my log-in details.
  6. I have set up a phantom account on my two Windows 10 laptops using the My ESET web portal, but they don't appear on the log on screen when I switch the computers on. Can anyone explain what might be going on please?
  7. I have three Android devices, two being Galaxy A3 mobiles and the one I've just purchased, which is an Huawei MediaPad. Both the Android devices have been able to connect to the anti-theft web portal, even though my password had contained a "#" symbol. However, despite removing the # as per advice given in other threads, I keep getting an error "Problem with association (20512000). Also, will the fact that I have changed my password affect the other devices that I have set up with the original password?
  8. I had a similar problem when re-installing on my Android mobile last week. It did accept the licence key though.
  9. Any update on this Marcos? Only 1 day left on my trial.
  10. I've just tried to enter the licence on the mobile phone itself, rather than via the web portal, but it also rejected, saying something like "this licence cannot be used to activate this product." The product I have is clearly advertised as being for multiple devices and including parental control, so what is going on here?
  11. I have a licence for the Family Security Pack (10 devices), so I was surprised to see on the My Eset web portal today that the licence for parental control on my daughter's Android mobile is a trial that is ending in 3 days. I tried to add my licence code, but it was rejected. I have no idea what is going on here as I thought the parental controls was automatically licenced when it was connected to the My Eset web portal. Also, the child locator is not currently returning any information, although the website monitoring is working normally. Somewhat disappointed by all this as I thought everything was working fine. Any suggestions?
  12. I think I'll have to disable this module as it seems to be blocking too many sites and it's becoming a pain to have to keep going to my daughter's computer and adding exceptions. I think I'll just rely on the router parental controls while she is at home and maybe reinstall Kaspersky Safe Kids if she takes her laptop round to a friend's house.
  13. I've just tried it again with a different task and it's still not worked with my computer off at the time the task was due to run.
  14. I've just tried creating a test task, after which I turned off my computer, waited until the time had passed and then turned it back on to see if the missed task would run. It hasn't run yet, so it doesn't look as though it's going to. It does seem that if my computer happens to be on at the time then the tasks are running, but not if it is switched off, so it would seem that my situation is similar but not exactly the same as the OP. I'm also running on Windows 10 64-bit and using the latest version of Internet Security.
  15. The Connected Home Monitor is still showing a yellow exclamation mark for some of my network devices, but clicking on the image doesn't display any further information. How come?
  16. This is precisely how fraudsters and other criminals try to dupe people into visiting scam websites. They create a website that is almost identical to the genuine site but just make a minor change such as in this example, which most people won't notice until it's too late. I would recommmend getting the Web Of Trust (WOT) extension for your browser as that will give you a visual indication of many scam websites (to see how it looks in action, take a look at the screenshot I have uploaded).
  17. Another thing you could try if all else fails is boot into safe mode (if possible) and then try running the excellent free Windows repair tool from tweaking.com.
  18. Only guessing but could the fact that you turned off your Wi-Fi before uninstalling McAfee have prevented it from fully uninstalling. Have you tried the option " Reset your PC or see advanced options " or tried to use system restore (if you have any restore points that is). One lesson here for future reference is to be prepared for this problem in advance. The solution that works for me is to have disc images made by Macrium Reflect stored on a separate partition and also on NAS. It also provides an emergency recovery procedure because each time I boot up my computer it gives me the option to start Windows 10 normally (the default option) or boot into the Macrium recovery mode. It's got me out of trouble a few times.
  19. I was using Bitdefender Total Security but I found it slowed down my PC quite a bit and sometimes it would just block things without even telling me it was doing it (e.g., when I tried to connect my Canon Powershot camera to my PC wirelessly to download photographs). The final straw was when I watched a video by a popular youtube reviewer. Here's a link if you want to see it and he does most of the popular antivirus products so it can be quite enlightening. ESET by the way, gets a good recommendation ("it did a great job"), which finally convinced me to buy a family pack licence. By the way, if you want to see one of his reviews which ends in quite a shockingly disasterous outcome (at least, it would have been under normal circumstances), just watch his review on Webroot. And to think I was even considering going with that. Phew, close shave.
  20. I had the same problem with Kaspersky, which was one of the reasons why I changed my security program. Also, I've found that sometimes Firefox will start throwing up errors for most of the https web sites I usually visit but, and here's the strange thing, rebooting my PC seems to resolve the problem. I'll confirm that the next time it starts happening to see if that is indeed the case.
  21. Just wondering - is there a special place for users to add suggestions and feature requests for the development team to consider?
  22. I'm pretty sure that some routers allow you to do this. I had a DrayTek router previously and being a business class router, it had a tremendous amount of settings that could be tweaked, including if I recall, the option to force every user on the network to log in and have their own set of rules. It may be overkill, but I think you can download a manual from their website to check out whether it would meet your purposes. Good luck.
