  1. thanks i will wait till it pops up again
  2. Thanks for your help I seem to have done the update successfully. I am just getting one notification which tells me I have a protocol filtering problem and it mentions HTTP and POP3 , I do not know what this means and if it is important
  3. Thank you I have 64 bit windows 10 on my machine .following the instructions they do not appear to give me the option for downloading 64 bit am I missing something ?
  4. Do I install 32 bit or 64 bit and please confirm I can install the upgrade over the top of my current version 8.. Should I wait for a notification from Eset to perform upgrade Graeme
  5. Thanks for the reply . No I am not positive about the points you raise as i did not at first see the beginning of the install but I can say it was performed automatically and I saw a message to restart windows at the end . . I am pretty sure the original version I had was 319
  6. Yesterday I received a new update to Nod after it installed I saw it was build 8.0.319,which is strange because I thought that was the build I had had before this update.I am at a loss to undestand what has happened . Can anyone explain this please.
  7. My Registry has not been damaged but thank you for your insight
  8. I did not alter anything yet I thought I would watch for a few more days to see if any problem under the new update . All was well this morning though I must say the boot time and presence of the Welcome rotating circle is considerably longer than I remember than before installing Eset and even this morning when I got to log on a signature update was still installing. We wall see how it goes.
  9. I will give this a try, I thought perhaps it happens only when there is an actual update to download that would take time like there was this morning ,which I now recall that after I did see it later it showed that it had an error with the little red mark against it . That eventually cleared away after I installed the notified update to 7.0.302.26 which also showed up.All has been fine since then
  10. You are probably right but I should not really have to do that . Thanks anyway
  11. I am wondering if it is possible to delay the usual Update when I first boot up my computer until after I have logged on . I have experienced on a couple of occasions my computer hangs on the "welcome" and from what I can see from my investigation this has coincided with an update to The Virus signatures having taken place as shown on their date and time . At the time there is no way of knowing an update is taking place as I have not reached the logon stage and I have had to close the computer and restart at which stage I can then see there has been an update. All updates run fine after that.
