Hi. I used back up and restore then factory reset as you thought. Can I make the tablet safe again now?

could someone explain a "rooted device " to me please? I set my tablet back to factory mode and ESET loaded ok but there is a warning about rooted devices being open to third parties. Help!

I am used to seeing an ESET small banner at the top of my banking page so that my banking is safe. This no longer appears and I don't like to use online banking without it. Does anyone know why it doesn't appear anymore and how do I know the banking page is safe to use without it? Thanks

Oops. Replied in wrong place. Yes, I used back up and restore then factory reset as you thought. Can I make the tablet safe again now? Be grateful for advice on how to do that.
