  1. Hello, I am a current subscriber, and I am here again to state that the user interface in NOD 32 AV Version 11 is a poor user experience. It is low contrast, and there are no options to change the "theme", Increase the font size or font itself, none of which would be required had better selections been made in the first place. Light gray on white, Med. Green on Light green, black on off white. Obviously my complaints were not heard, and if they were, then they were not addressed. Perhaps you may find it better coming from experts, when common sense and consumers input aren't enough... https://www.nngroup.com/articles/low-contrast/ hxxp://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/visual-audio-contrast-contrast.html hxxp://juicystudio.com/services/luminositycontrastratio.php#specify (yields info in attached image) B2B2B2 on F6F6F6 background as measured using an image from the main ESET Nod 32 menu. 76BA65 on EDF6E2 background as measured from the same menu also attached. Please make adjustments accordingly, my renewals are up soon and you can be sure I will make adjustments accordingly. Regards, Tom Edit - Further reading from months/years ago from other users requesting the same thing: https://forum.eset.com/topic/1169-future-changes-to-eset-nod32-antivirus/
  2. Phoenix While the KillerNic hardware/software/firmware sound really good on paper and in some scenarios work well, I have found over the years that the tradeoff of bugs within the software and firmware outweighed the usefulness of the system as a whole. I found that ESET Nod 32 and KillerNIC seem to have unique issues when paired together and when I purchased an Intel Pro NIC card (my KillerNic was embedded on the mobo) and disabled the KillerNIC, I stopped having issues. It has been awhile since I have used the two in unison and by the sounds of your issue(s) it appears that the problems still exist, to varying degrees obviously. I believe I was on the E2200 if memory serves me correctly. Regards, Tom
  3. Marcos, Thank you for the response, the log file window cannot be maximized. The tools window cannot be maximized, Scheduler window cannot be maximized, watch activity cannot be maximized, etc. etc..Ala 800 X 600 Resolution from the 90's. I have them logging to find out why since installation of this version of NOD 32 AV my system has screeched to a halt. I even have disabled HIPS and it still lists things that are being blocked.Temporarily disabling AV and things are still slow as well as HIPs showing items continuing to be blocked. Along the same lines, temporarily "pause protection" should do just that. Stop it, period - However things still show as being blocked. I think at this time, I am going to uninstall and reinstall. I recall over at the Wilders security forums that a user used to post a configuration file which was an excellent starting point. The out of the box settings and my system have not played well together. edit: I can on the log file (I just found) can click on an obscure icon labeled "open in a new window" and I can then maximize that window. I don't get it at all. Why not just have that on the main window like every other program that is run and be consistent with the UI... Speaking of UI, it would be nice to have themes, or at least revert back to a higher contrast theme. The light blue and light gray test with a small font is an extremely poor choice for a light (white/near white) background.
  4. Hello, Once again, I would like to request that all windows be allowed to maximize. Please end the insanity Secondly, I have been having issues with HIPS blocking things like: Time;Application;Operation;Target;Action;Rule;Additional information 7/19/2017 11:01:57 AM;C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe;Modify registry;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EPFWWFPR;blocked;Self-Defense: Registry with full protection; Time;Application;Operation;Target;Action;Rule;Additional information 7/18/2017 7:25:52 PM;O:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Days of War\DaysOfWar\Binaries\Win64\DaysOfWar-Win64-Shipping.exe;Modify state of another application;C:\Windows\System32\csrss.exe;blocked;Self-Defense: Do not allow modification of system processes; Time;Application;Operation;Target;Action;Rule;Additional information 7/17/2017 9:23:07 PM;C:\Windows\System32\csrss.exe;Get access to another application;C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Security\egui.exe;some access blocked;Self-Defense: Protect ekrn and egui processes;Terminate/suspend another application Time;Application;Operation;Target;Action;Rule;Additional information 7/17/2017 9:16:32 PM;C:\Windows\SysWOW64\XSrvSetup.exe;Get access to another application;C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe;some access blocked;Self-Defense: Do not allow modification of system processes;Terminate/suspend another application,Modify state of another application I am currently trying learning mode to see if that may remedy some of the issues. Is there a configuration file like the one over at the Wilders forums I could use to test with/compare to? Regards, Tom
  5. Hello, Long time user of ESET products and I am unable to find a way to change the UI (theme) of ESET. Before this version (skipped a few) I have never felt the need to but to be frank, who decided a white background with low contrast colors (light gray, med. gray and cyan) was a "great" idea? Mix that with extremely small font sizes and it is a recipe for prescription glasses! There is actually two other areas that have been an issue as well, but seems to be worse with version 10. There seems to be little consistency in the ability to resize, minimize or expand the various windows and pop ups(outs). For example when you are giving a path to a file the path will obviously get long on occasions and while it is great I can slide the column over... It does no good if I can see maybe 30 characters max... It turns into scroll city and is difficult to read through. Does having a multi year license give me the ability to use previous versions, and if so, how far back can I got with my license? Product name: ESET NOD32 Antivirus Product version: 10.1.210.0 Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Thank you, Tom PS in the image, you can see also that some areas are being cut off.
