Did an In-Depth Scan and it took and 42 minutes and 43 seconds which is impressive for this 10 year old Mac, and that is much faster than older versions of ESET Cyber Security which would take about 2 to 3+ hours

Did in-depth scan found any infections? 
 
I've tested your 1byte PDF file you send me. In-depth scan did not detect it as infection now. I added file to quarantine manually, GUI shows quarantine correctly, I could restore it from quarantine to disk too. Why do you think that this file is the problem?

We could not release hotfix of 7.4 using Program Component Update aka PCU channel in the application because there are still a lot of customers with old version of 'Mac/Linux support module', so if we release it right now than they will face the same PCU problem again.

Already released 7.4 has the same problem with PCU like 7.3 has, but 7.4 has fixed bug with non-working network which was triggered by failed automatic PCU update of 7.3. 
 
Manual update of 7.3 by released 7.4 is without any problems, this works correctly.

O.K. I understand what we talk about now.
The file has been signed by a recognized certificate so it had higher reputation.
The signing certificate had been revoked, so it had been removed from the list of recognized signing certificates.
Our teams are looking into it and checking the underlaying processes speed up recognition of such in the future.

Problem is in automatic mode of the product update in released versions 7.3 and 7.4 too. 
 
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
 
Fix of product update will be in upcoming hot-fix. We must also fix it on released affected versions before we will be able to release mentioned hot fix via product updates channel.
 
It is crucial to customers to have updated product modules to avoid this problem again, especially 'Mac/Linux support module' must be of version 1048 or higher.
 
If customer have this problem again because of late module updates, manual installation of hot fix will solve this issue.

Try to use version 7.4.1200.0. Excluded IP list should work there but before setup exclusions test if you connectivity problem was fixed in version 7.4.1200.0. If not, please open support ticket we will need more detailed information about problem for replication or fixing.

It is problem in macOS Sonoma affecting micro-service architecture used in ECS and EEA version 7. The issue is still present in Sonoma BETA 14.1. OS is removing FDA for product application bundle during restart of macOS. 
 
Although we've reported it to Apple, we are trying to find a workaround fix of this. Hot-fix will be released immediately if we discover how to correctly exit product in problematic macOS shutdown. 

We don't check for installed updates but perform a true ACS test instead. This information is from the developer who implemented the test routine that creates the said registry value.

For almost every home user it is important that the antivirus works as much automatically as possible. Those who have been using interactive mode often complained that after updating Windows Store applications rules stopped to work. The solution are rules created by the app name and signer by default. Using application path would return the issues that users were struggling with. While we listen to you, our customers, we are also aware that we cannot please everyone and there will always be someone disappointed.

When I made contact in July , I received that it's a Known Issue between VPN and Web Access Protections and it will be looked on in the future.

I was informed that the issue lies within a third party text editor that is used on the forum.
The forum development team reported the issue to the editor developers, but don't have the info on when it should be fixed.

I am checking with the forum developers whether there is any progress on this.

It wasn't problem with password. The problem was cache on ESET Bridge server. Deleted, restarted and now everything works. 👍

just installed the 16.0.28.0 and trying... (next report in a ~week)

A response is not guaranteed when you contact samples[at]eset.com. It is up to the malware analysts to give priorities to particular tasks. Tickets with very low quality samples that include clean, non-functional files, greyware, files not subject to detection, such as source files may never be replied to as out analysts primarily deal with malware and samples that pose actual risk to users. We encourage everyone to submit highly suspicious files and appreciate it. Samples that are actual malware are usually detected within minutes or hours at maximum.

ESET services should be allowed by default.
Make sure that you have the latest version of ESET Bridge deployed / you use the config from the latest version and try it with it.
In case the communication to an ESET service is blocked, please provide us with the Bridge logs capturing the attempt tp connect to it with the info verbosity set and of course the address of the service, you are trying to connect to.

@AnthonyQ If this issue can be temporary solved by going to the system setting - network - filters and disable/enable the ESET Web&Email transparent proxy filter, you might be hitting the same buffer full (overflow?) issue as me. I see this issue even if the machine has not gone to sleep.
Hopefully fixed in upcoming release that should be coming any day now due to missing support for MacOS 14 (Sonoma) in 7.3.3700.
The issue was also present in 7.3.2100.0, but then support told me to downgrade to 6.11.xx or wait for the next version of 7.3.xx

From ESET Support:
"They (developers, my clarification) have reproduced the issue and confirmed that it has been classified as a bug.
The communication that goes through our network system extension causes the extension to fill the buffer and cause the issue.

Unfortunately there is currently no time frame for a fix, but keep an eye on updates as it will be fixed in a future update."
 

Redirection doesn't work with Firefox 115-117. Mozzila should fix certain issue in v118. As for Chrome, we are not aware of any issues. However, using Secure-all-browsers mode is strongly recommended.
