The online help is available at https://help.eset.com/eeau/10/en-US/

Please open a new topic in this forum to share your feedback or to report an issue.
In case of any issues caused by the Web access protection, please capture the problematic communication via Wireshark and provide us with the packet capture to check.

We are looking forward to your participation and feedback provided.

  2. Hello guys,

The fix is being deployed into the production and requests to connect to the EPNS service are being throttled to keep the load under control.

So the situation is improving, but it will take some time to restore the full EPNS functionality in a controlled manner.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this

  3. Hello

@ecayton I can confirm that the issue is ongoing and the teams responsible are actively pursuing it. I have the notification on unreachability of the EPNS myself as well now.

@LawrenceM the hostnames / IPs used by ESET are listed at https://support.eset.com/en/kb332-ports-and-addresses-required-to-use-your-eset-product-with-a-third-party-firewall

as ESET HQ resides in Slovakia / EU I would not recommend to block traffic heading to Slovakia, as we have a hosting service here.
I understand that you want to be cautious, I would recommend to use the ESET Bridge for the ESET related traffic as it has the rules built in... https://help.eset.com/ebe/1/en-US/index.html

    1 client fails to activate.

If possible, please try to get the logs from it to check it with the support team.

Error: Failed adding exclusion to rule. Couldn't find rule with familyId 2939

I have found one report with such behavior, but it was fixed in the 1.8 release, so this is probably other issue which will have to be investigated from the logs properly...

Of course Peter, I can 100% relate to learning from mistakes of the past. so not holding you up for that.
I would like to add that sometimes when a release date approaches it can be helpful to know ahead of time that there is something to look out for instead of still discussing and working with support as it would be proved worthless to spend more time over something that might get fixed in a day (or few days)

I understand your point, but I assume that once we would say that, most of the users would understand it as our commitment to do the release. More general topic is a Roadmap, those is being shared with the ESET partner network so they can share data based on it with their customers...

In general, thanks again for the bit of info about the changelog, truly appreciate that, and it's great to see the positive steps ESET is taking towards customers' requests. (and of course the ESET Forum Staff along with your help in escalatinging these points to help the entire community)

Thank you for your words of appreciation.
We thank you for being active member of the community on the ESET Forum.

  6. Hello @st3fan,

naturally we recommend to upgrade to the latest supported version, if you need to stay with the EP 9.1 for now we recommend to upgrade the Tomcat manually https://help.eset.com/protect_install/91/en-US/upgrading_apache_tomcat.html

To mitigate the vulnerability you need to upgrade it locally anyway and the installation binaries are not available on the download site anyway.

btw. our QA hasn't performed tests with the EP 9.1 and the latest Tomcat to declare the official compatibility.

    Peter
