Hello @DawltonH, in the past there was a bug, which might have caused it but it is already fixed. If the issue still occurs, there is not way to disable it as of now, but we have a case opened with the vendor on it. Peter

Hello @avielc, I'm checking it. I can see 1.11.2882.0 in our EPC, which is the latest version available for macOS https://www.eset.com/int/business/download/inspect/#connector I can see that the info on a different version for macOS is omitted in https://support.eset.com/en/news8467-eset-inspect-and-eset-inspect-cloud-hotfix-version-1-11-2882-have-been-released 😞 , I passed the report further and it has been fixed in the meantime. Have you changed the Repository URL? If not, I would recommend to restart the ESET PROTECT service. Already tracked. (note for us: G_WISH-4948) it has some prerequisites so it might take time to implement it... Peter

Hello @DawltonH, do you have the setting "Enable Vulnerability & Patch Management advanced logging" enabled on the Endpoint? Peter

Concern about MSP prices increase >:-|
Peter Randziak replied to Marzini Consulting's topic in General Discussion
Hello @Marzini Consulting, please speak with the ESET Italy office regarding the possible discount or other possibilities. The Forum is not a proper place to discuss the prices in a particular country / region. Thank you, Peter -

Concern about MSP prices increase >:-|
Peter Randziak replied to Marzini Consulting's topic in General Discussion
Hello @Marzini Consulting, there was an adjustment of the prices in May, we do not know the details of your license, but I recommend to get in touch with the ESET Italy to speak about it. Peter -
Scheduled Scans
Peter Randziak replied to Aryeh Goretsky's topic in ESET Internet Security & ESET Smart Security Premium
Hello @Damjan, I recommend to watch closely the future product release announcements, one of the feature might appear there ;-) Which one? Well that is classified 🙂 Peter -
Hello @DawltonH, Yes it is expected, see for example this announcement for details https://www.eset.com/int/about/newsroom/press-releases/products/eset-announces-significant-updates-for-eset-protect-platform-to-help-businesses-keep-ahead-of-attack-1/ I'm checking, I will post an update once I receive the info. Hello @j-gray, I recommend to submit the questions via a ticket so it will be properly tracked and completely answered. The EI connector is asking the endpoint if it is licensed. The endpoint checks the license validity using the ESET's online service, called EDF in this case, some products are able to receive notifications via EPNS on it as well. Why it happens on the macOS systems only is probably a mystery for now we have the issue reported from just a few customers out of many. All the endpoint products are checking the license validity periodically as the license might be changed i.t. upgraded, downgraded, enlarged, prolonged, cancelled... Peter

Hello @Nagato, in case of a memory leak in the on-demand scanning, the memory would be allocated by the ESET Service (ekrn.exe), what is the amount of memory allocated by it after the scan completes? I assume that the large memory allocations might be caused by caching of the files read during the scan by the operating system. There should be no issue with that, as when the memory is needed the content of the cache is released... Peter

Lost between Cloud Console, Agents, Policies and Endpoint products...
Peter Randziak replied to Labsy's topic in ESET PROTECT
Hello @Labsy, the help to read is available at https://help.eset.com/protect_cloud/en-US/ Agent is the component which among other things facilitates the communication with the management server i.e. the ESET PROTECT cloud, downloads and applies the policies, executes the tasks and so on The Endpoint is the ESET Security product, which facilitates the protection itself. You can deploy the agent first and later the ESET Security product via it, or you may deploy both at once. You may have one installer and later apply the desired policy to selected group(s) of endpoints That sounds like an MSP use case, so you should probably start using the ESET MSP Administrator... 🙂 Peter -
I assume it made sense for the support to close the ticket, as the fix is prepared and just need to be released with a new product version.
-
Hello, I hope we are speaking of the same issue / ticket. Is it the issue, which is supposed to be fixed in the upcoming version 7.4? I think there is a work-around available, for sure that is not a fix but it should enable you to use the product until the proper fix is available...
-
Hello guys, https://status.eset.com/incidents/mvzcyz3qmm7h "The upgrade was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. A new time will be announced for the upgrade." This is applicable for the on-prem version as well. P.S. A general recommendation is to update the EI server first, then the EI connectors. Peter

EES doesn't evaluate correctly Windows Firewall rules
Peter Randziak replied to ludolf's topic in ESET Endpoint Products
Hello guys, I may confirm that the "Also evaluate rules from Windows firewall" does not work with the new firewall, the dev team is aware of the issue and will fix it. Peter note for us: M_EPFW-352 -
Hello @peteyt, thank you for the feedback provided. I passed it to the guy responsible and he is checking it. Peter

Hello @FranceBB, well yes, as the v9 didn't have the Web Access Protection feature at all. I recommend to follow it up via a ticket so it can be checked and resolved / work-around-ed. The WAP brings an important additional level of protection... The support schedule is available at https://support-eol.eset.com/en/policy_business/product_tables.html Peter
