I thinked like you, when I didnt use any AV but the CCleaner case, changed my mind about not using AVs because when CCleaner got hacked, no regular user could notice it, especially when the hacked version was on the Official CCleaner site. You can just go for example to Youtube and search Windows Defender test and see a lot of videos where malicious aplications bypass Windows Defender/MSE protection. You have to keep in mind that Windows Defender/MSE doesnt have any behavior blocker like ESET has(HIPS component) and that means that is purely base on signatures so for example if you put Windows Defender/MSE and ESET against a threat that they dont have signature to, Windows Defender will get bypassed by that threat but with ESET there is a chance that threat is detected by the HIPS component. All of this to say dont believe in those results its impossible that any AV gets 100% protection against any threat because malware code keeps evolving and thats why AV companies keep adding new components to there AVs every year so they can fight against those new threats. The new Kaspersky Free 2019 now has the System Watcher component but doesnt let you change the components settings(File Anti-Virus, Web Anti-Virus, System Watcher, etc). For me both Eset and Kaspersky provide great protection but I use Eset because is a lot lighter on RAM, CPU and Disk usage.

Like I said previous I updated to version v11.1.42.1 but I just wanna report that I dont get the Scan Bug reported by other users in this topic.

Yesterday I updated from v11.0.159.9 update to v11.1.42.1 via Eset regular updates and worked fine for me and the only setting that I lost was the "Show splash-screen" that I had disable but got enable again after update. Just to inform you I didnt lost any other settings like exclusions, firewall rules, etc

I am on Eset Internet Security v11.0.159.9 but I still didnt got the update to v11.1.42. I even manually check for updates but says that is updated.

You dont need to disable LiveGrid for not having the Live Grid not accessible message you can disable that message by going to: Advanced Configuration -> User Interface -> Application Status (Edit) -> General -> Eset Live Grid not accessible (Turn it Off)

That message only appear to me when I wasnt connected with Internet, please report it again if you see it again when you are connected with Internet(Take a print spreen if that happen again and send the logs to Eset Support).

Maybe I am miss understanding you itman but for what I saw the TomFace LiveGrid notification happen because he wasnt connected to the internet, thats why that notification appear after he connect with internet the notification disappear. + Like I post before is easy to disable that notification(not LiveGrid): Advanced Configuration -> User Interface -> Application Status (Edit) -> General -> Eset Live Grid not accessible (Turn it Off)

For not having the Live Grid not accessible message when you arent connected with internet you can disable it by going to: Advanced Configuration -> User Interface -> Application Status (Edit) -> General -> Eset Live Grid not accessible (Turn it Off)

Thx Just install ver 11 now and is working fine. The offline installer is universal language, next offline builds will always be like that?
