  1. Was this issue ever resolved? Seeing lots of questions in the Eset MAC forum that have ZERO answers or replies.

Unlike in older versions, ekrn.exe runs as a protected service on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. I'd strongly recommend installing v10 from scratch and collecting the requested logs that are important for troubleshooting the issue.
  3. Do you have any "sleep" modes enabled on the pc.
  4. I had the same issue and fixed it by making sure ALL power saving options on the pc were turned off. In my case I didn't use the sleep mode, but did have the screen set to turn off after 10 minutes. Apparently eset sees this as power saving and the scan task would not run. Once I disabled the screen setting, the task started running daily as set. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what was causing this.
