  1. Hi, I regularly run the mirrortool to update the repo and I have the following in the filter file: .. { "app_id": "com.eset.apps.business.eea.windows", "version": ">9.1.2063.1" }, ... So in theory, it should download all versions > 9.1.2063. I just attempted to install Endpoint AV using the context menu option (which was pointing to the 10.1.2058.1). But that task failed because that folder (v10/10.1.2058.1). I only have 10.0.2045.0, 10.1.2046.0, 10.1.2050.0. Where does the 10.1.2058.1 option come from? This isn't the only file that's missing. I'm guessing that 10.1.2058.1 is a 'non-regular' option? Thanks for the clarification. Ed
  2. @Marcos Quick question on the modules update. Is this the one which looks up the repository or the one that checks the mirror updates? I've set it such that it checks the <updates server>/eset_upd/era6. Edit: What versions of those modules would include the additional Notification? Currently I have the following: Thanks Ed
  3. I think I found out what the problem was. SeaMonkey and some old version of Firefox isn't compatible to the webconsole. Using a newer version of Firefox 'avoided' the error.
  4. I basically just chose the Endpoint option, checked the include Username/Password checkbox, and selected 1 unit, and then generated the offline license. Then I uploaded that to the mirror and ran the mirrortool program. So far, it hasn't complained about license issues, so i guess I'm good now. Thanks Marcos. Ed
  5. Ah, I think that was it. So all this time I had the misunderstanding that the ESET Shared Local cache offline license *was* for the Mirror repo when all this time I could've just simply used 1 Endpoint license for the mirror system? Edmund
  6. Hi Marcos, That I understand, but what I'm confused about is that the "local cache" option is missing. IIRC, I needed to select "local cache" option and then check the "Include Username and Password" checkbox. Right now, I'm stuck since none of the current options are applicable since this license is for the mirror tool and not the Endpoint/Server security programs. Thanks Edmund PS: As I re-read that and looked at the screenshots, I'm wondering if I'm confused with this because I expected a 'local cache' option(which I believe was an option some time ago); but am I correct in understanding that it *doesn't* matter what Product option I select, just as long as I have a valid offline license, I can use that offline license (even though it isn't specific to "local cache"? Also the "Units Count" is only 1?
  7. Yes I do. In the list of offline license options, I have the Endpoint and Server security items; but no locale cache. I've used two different browsers just in case one of them is not seeing that local cache option; but both don't show that. This is what I see: Edmund
  8. Hi, In the past, (and if I recall correctly) I went to the EBA site and selected the license and when I clicked on 'create offline license', the next screen would have a field that would allow me to select (iirc) "locale cache". I don't see this anymore (or perhaps it's been moved elsewhere?). Can someone clarify how I can create an offline Mirror license? Thanks Edmund
  9. Description: Bundled-configuration/file/certificates for migration to new server. Detail: Currently migrating to a new server is a confusing mess. Perhaps future ESET PROTECT servers can have an option to gather all necessary configurations/files/certificates into one bundle that can be imported into the new server. This of course means that the old server and the new server must be running the same version (or binary compatible) of ESET PROTECT. (i.e. cannot migrate from ESMC to ESET PROTECT)
  10. Hi, I'm moving from a Windows based PROTECT server to a Linux one (as the Windows system is a little overwhelmed). While I've followed the instructions as stated in https://help.eset.com/protect_install/10.1/en-US/prerequisites_server_linux.html?component_installation_server_linux.html, there were a few changes that I had to make, particularly the Tomcat installation part had the old tomcat7 installed when I required tomcat9. (Note: in https://help.eset.com/protect_install/10.1/en-US/prerequisites_server_linux.html?component_installation_webconsole_linux.html, for CentOS, yum install tomcat installs version 7. Anyway, after putting the era.war in the webapps directory, I tried to log in but got the following error: I had installed tomcat-native 1.2.35 (but it looks like the latest is needed - 1.2.39, but I haven't updated that as it requires the JDK; but since the webconsole is running, I'm guessing it is an option? Anyway, might anyone have any idea of what this issue is caused by? I have installed the following: Server: 10.1.2270.0 Agent: 10.1.2272.0 (x86-64) Webconsole: 10.1.277.0 Tomcat: 9.0.82.0 CentOS: 7.2.1511 Any help appreciated. Thanks Ed
  11. That could be it. While I had updated the era server.. I hadn't updated the mirrortool 's filtertype Currently doing a dry run to get the list of products. Ed
  12. Strange. I don't have that entry in the list of items. I have this: Am I missing something (aside for that missing option)? Edmund
  13. Hi, As a few of the systems have this notification in ESET PROTECT (10.1.2270.0) most likely due to them being out of date (operating system wise), I'd like to disable these notifications as I'm in the process of upgrading these systems. I've looked both in the AV policy and the Agent policy, but I can't seem to find that notification in the notification settings. Any clarifications appreciated. Ed
  14. Just to Answer my own issue. The error message is very misleading. It has nothing to do with protection but the problem with being able to update the system. Since I had a local mirror (+update httpd server), I had the update server entries in the Agent and ESS setup set to a particular local url. Unfortunately, I was confused with the paths for the update server entries. I found the culprit and now the servers are green. That said, I do hope that ESET would change that to something more specific like "Cannot find updates" or something. "Protection setup failed" makes me think of licensing/installation issues. Credit where credit is due, I sent a message to tech support and they promptly responded with queries of my setup and their final message gave me the hint to look at the update server entries. 'lo and behold, one of the entries was incorrect. Thanks Edmund
  15. Hi, I am using the latest versions of ESFW and ESET PROTECT. This is pretty much akin to Having read that thread, I'm not sure what's going on. The system in question is a Windows 2012R2 server. I had created a new task that would install ESET Server Security using the recently updated Offline License. I've done this before countless of times so in theory, this shouldn't be the problem. Once installed, after waiting a bit, an alert is then associated to the server entry. "Protection Setup Failed Error". I went to the server in question and took a look at the log. The only error I see is the following: Then I went to the setup/advance setup and tried to "Deactivate the product" but there isn't an option there. I tried it in the webconsole, but I get the notification: At this point, from the server's ESET UI, I *know* for a fact it is activated using the Offline License as it's shown in the Help screen. I took a look at the status.html file and Everything is green. Is there a specific Log that shows what's going on? I took a look also in the C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Security directory and came across the Installer directory which contains "efsw_nt64.msi"... Which seems very wrong as I would expect it to be "essw_nt64.msi" since efsw is the "ESET File Security Server product." (iirc). At this point, I'm stuck; but I'm planning to uninstall the Server Security product, and install it via a direct download and then apply the offline license. Ed Edit: I uninstalled the Server security and manually installed a it (from a file I downloaded from the site, esfw_nt64.msi). I installed it and included my offline license. The product's UI then told me Protection Setup Failed. And in the webconsole, I tried deactivating the license and it gave me the same info "no licenses deactivated". This leads me to believe something is wrong with the offline license. (probably too much a stretch, but I feel that since my business license is for the "Endpoint AV + File Security", I'm guessing "Server Security" is a different product and that I am not supposed to use it. (Makes little sense since Server Security *is* File Security). Anyway, I regenerated the offline license and paid attention to select the Server Security option. After uploading it to the webconsole, and activating the product, I still get this error. At this point, I'm left with no option but to contact Tech Support; but I suspect this might be something to do with the offline license file.
  16. Would you happen to be using GPO? If so, create a new GPO that sets that registry item. It would be very tedious to do that manually.
  17. I set that; but for some reasons (my confusion, probably), I see "HEAD /dll/update.ver", which would refer to /opt/updates/dll/update.ver. But in my /opt/updates directory, I have eset_upd/{ep10,ep6,ep7,ep8,ep9,era6,v4,v5}. In the past, I'd fix the updates to /opt/updates/eset_upd/ep7 but that would only work for ESET v7 products. For mixed product environments, that'd be wrong, no? That's what's confusing me. Thanks Edmund
  18. Yes, I used the mirror tool to download the necessary files to the /opts/updates path. Apache is installed and is working. I think what is confusing me is that from the Apache logs, module updates are looking for : "HEAD /updates/dll/update.ver" I think I am confused in what i should put in the "custom server" updates part. For both the Updates and repo. Thanks Edmund
  19. Hi, In the past with ESMC, I had setup an Agent policy that gets the deployed agents to point all updates requests to a local server. I'd set the Updates path as http://<server>/updates/eset_upd/era6 Recently, I believe this isn't the right setting. Looking at the site's documentation, it seems like I should just put http://<server>/ I have the mirrors set to /opts/updates and Apache's backend directory set to /opts/updates. Is this correct? Thanks Ed
  20. To be fair, it isn't a batch file but a binary executable one. In order to unhork two of the systems that were using an old version of the Agent, I too had to manually safeboot-run the uninstaller to remove all the ESET products before these two systems would pick up the GPO agent. Yes, it is a hassle. I just wish there was some way of uninstalling the agent without needing to physically be at the system.
  21. Hi Marcos, The server doesn't have multiple NICs and there are items listed in the detecedMachines.log. I'll ask tech support about it. Thanks Edmund
