  1. Tried this. Same thing. GUI is up and stays up after cold boot.
  2. Hmm. Didn't seem to make it smaller by turning off profiling events....and to top it off, this time EGUI started minimized. Anyway, sending the Process Monitor boot log. Good thing was that the 2.0Gb size was uncompressed--oops.
  3. OK, removed all three, EMET, Sophos Removal Tool (which was installed under a different account and I couldn't find it at first), and WinAntiransom. Still, EGUI opens and stays open on login/reboot. Sending Procmon boot log via pm (Edit: well, I was going to, but it was 2.0Gb zipped--probably should not have told it to include profiling events).
  4. I installed version 3.0 a long while back when it was recommended on a blog I was reading at the time. I then upgraded to 4.0 and 5.5 as I discovered new versions, but hadn't really paid attention to it. It was triggered by a few false positives over the years, but I seem to recall it catch a couple of things when I wasn't paying close attention to where I was clicking. I'm happy to remove it.
  5. Sent logs in pm yesterday. In the meantime, I see this message (attached), and the odd thing is I've been at 10.0.390.0 for some time. I'm not sure if it is related.
  6. That may have been it. I have EMET 5.5 installed, and I disabled Deep Hooks and it started working. I'm not sure which is the best to have enabled, the ESET Banking or the EMET features. Thank you very much for responding.
  7. In the meantime, I did another repair install, and this time the EGUI did not start at all. No access to the EGUI via system tray and will not start from the Start menu either. Logged into admin account to run the log software (it wasn't clear if I just had to run as admin or be logged in as admin). Still no EGUI. Logged out of admin, back into regular account, and now I see the EGUI comes up and stays up. Sending logs via pm.
  8. Still not working for me since upgrading to 10 (now on 10.0.390). I have installed, repair, uninstalled, etc. I have tried several browsers, including Firefox, IE, and Chrome (64). Again, the problem is not that it doesn't detect the site as a banking site. I have manually added several sites. The issue is that it detects them, says "Opening secured browser" and then never does anything after that. I have to turn the feature off to get to a banking site. Now, to top things off, the setting doesn't seem to want to stick. The next time I log in, I have to change the setting back to off.
  9. I had the problem with version 9 where the EGUI would not start when rebooted. I could not get to any of the settings because the EGUI would not open at all. I had to log on and log off repeatedly before it would open. I repaired, I uninstalled, I reinstalled. Nothing helped. I called support, and they had me uninstall and upgrade to 10. It went away with an upgrade to version 10, then came back, now that problem seems to have gone away with 10.0.390. But now the EGUI opens on login in 10.0.390. I have to manually close it every time. I'm not talking about the splash screen, but the full EGUI. This is new, and I cannot find a setting to turn it off. This is less of a real problem than just an annoyance. Using 10.0.390 under Windows 10.
  10. Just stopped working in Firefox, again. It detects it as a listed domain, it gets the little animated dots, and says "Opening secured browser..." but it never opens. Using Windows 10 home, ESET ESS 9.0.402.0, and Firefox 48.0. Just updated Firefox to 48.0.2, and still the same thing. Just checked and same thing in IE 11.545.10586.0. When I try to launch the Banking & Payment Protection icon on the desktop, nothing happens. Basically, something happened in the last 8 days to make it stop working.
  11. It is now working in everything except Chrome 64 bit. I repair installed. That didn't help. I uninstalled. Reinstalled. That gave me 9.0.386.0, but it was unstable, and the GUI would not consistently work. I did another repair install, and this got the GUI to work. Then I upgraded to 9.0.402.0, and it now works in Firefox and IE. It does not work in Chrome 64-bit, which I understand has been a problem anyway.
  12. In case I wasn't clear, this was all working just fine before June. Banking sites were added manually and were working. They stopped, then magically started working again. Then they stopped again, this time, clearly being detected as banking sites, but never opening the secure browser.
  13. Using Windows 10 Home here, with ESET Smart Security currently on version 9.0.402.0 and signature 14053. Default browser is currently Chrome 64-bit. Although my default browser was IE11 when the problem first showed up. And the problem previously occurred in Chrome 32-bit. I have just set my default browser to IE 11 and still have the same symptoms. Back in June I was having problems with ESET Banking Protection not working in Chrome 64-bit. But it was working fine in other browsers https://forum.eset.com/topic/8570-banking-protection-stopped-working/ Then my problem started showing up in all browsers, but only for some banking sites. Even though all sites were clearly in the list. See https://forum.eset.com/topic/8973-banking-payment-protection-and-chrome-promptredirect-issue/ While before I was getting no redirection at all (it would just open the site), currently, in all browsers, it acts like it is redirecting, but never does. Also, clicking on the ESET Banking & Payment icon on the desktop opens a small black window for a second, then that closes, then nothing happens. I have done a repair install of ESET ESS and that did not help. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of ESET ESS and that took me back to 9.0.386.0, and that behaves the same way. I am going to update it back to 9.0.402.0, but I don't think that is going to help. [update: Now the problem may be moot as I cannot get the GUI to open. It does not appear in the systray, and the GUI won't open from the start menu either. I don't know what my next step is to do except uninstall again and maybe roll back to 8]
  14. This started happening to me again. Before (see https://forum.eset.com/topic/8570-banking-protection-stopped-working/)it was only in Chrome, but now happening in Chrome, Firefox, and IE. In Chrome, it just ignores all the sites in my list. In Firefox and IE, it gives the redirecting message, but the secure browser never opens.
  15. OK, this is even weirder. It works for some sites on Chrome 32, but not all sites. The sites that work on Firefox don't all work on Chrome.
  16. I am using 32-bit version of Chrome and it is not working in 9.0.381.0 with 13623P (20160609) in pre-release mode.
  17. OK, it says I have the 32-bit version of Chrome in Task Manager.
  18. Sorry, I missed point 2. I don't know how to tell if it is 32-bit or 64-bit, but Chrome is reporting 51.0.2704.84 m
  19. OK, I have set my default browser to Chrome. It still does not redirect as it did before.
  20. I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I don't want it to open in EDGE. I want it to open in Chrome. Before, I would open the site in Chrome, it would redirect to the banking protection in Chrome. Before, when I would open the site in Firefox, it would redirect to the banking protection in Firefox. Now, when I open a banking site in Chrome, it does not redirect at all. When I open the banking site in Firefox, it redirects to banking protection in Firefox. The only reason I mentioned Chrome is because someone asked what my default browser was. My default browser has not changed. I will make my default browser Chrome, if that helps.
  21. The default system browser is Edge. However, I am trying this in my main browser, Chrome, which is where the problem seems to be. It works in Firefox and Edge, not in Chrome. Since posting, I have updated to 9.0.381.0, and still have same issue.
  22. As of the last few days, Banking Protection feature has stopped working. When I attempt to open a banking site that is on my list of protected sites, a secure browser does not open. This was working the last time I tried to connect, but has stopped. Any ideas of what to check? I have tried turning the feature off and on, and that did not help. I can manually choose the option from the ESET Tools screen, but it doesn't work automatically as it once did. Using ESET SS 9.0.375.0 with update 13579.
  23. Thanks. That link is what I'm talking about as well. I understand that ESS merely notifies and this seems to be a Windows 10 issue, but it's clearly getting that information from somewhere. It just seems like Windows 10 is being totally unhelpful. Why bother reporting it if you can't direct the user to the exact driver?
  24. I am using ESS 9 with Windows 10. ESET reminds me frequently to install recommended updates. See similar thread from January https://forum.eset.com/topic/7113-windows-10-operating-system-updates/?hl=windows+update#entry38592 I realize I can turn this feature off in ESS and that this may be more of a Windows 10 problem, but how can I install these recommended updates if Windows is supposed to be installing these for me?
  25. Thanks. That wasn't it. But further down the page I saw instructions "If the training does not start automatically, follow the instructions in the section Activate your training online (Windows users) below to start your training." I tried it, and it doesn't work in IE, which is what ESET was trying to open. I then tried it in Chrome and it prompted me to allow the Flash plug-in. So the issue was with my IE not allowing Flash and not indicating that it was being blocked. Since I don't usually use IE, I didn't realize that was what was going on. I invite ESET to try some non-Flash solutions in the future.
