Update servers may be temporarily overloaded due to a larger update that has been released. You can attempt to update ESET manually or simply wait until it updates automatically.

After further testing we found that we needed to use syslog_facility=none not syslog_class=none to disable all ESET logging to the system.log file. Please ensure the previous syslog_class option is commented out or removed from the esets.cfg file. You can do this by running the following command:

 

sudo /Applications/ESET\ Cyber\ Security.app/Contents/MacOS/esets_set --section global --set syslog_class

 

After that please run the command below to add syslog_facility=none to the global section of the esets.cfg file:

 

sudo /Applications/ESET\ Cyber\ Security.app/Contents/MacOS/esets_set --section global --set syslog_facility=none

 

Once completed restart your computer and check to ensure no more ESET log entries are showing up in the system.log file.

I would love to troubleshoot this issue with you! He was correct when he said it's never a good idea to run two real-time scanners together. Almost every time I have seen BSODs after an ESET install it has been due to a driver conflict. Can you PM me a SysInspector log?

Here are the instructions to transfer  ESET to a new computer. You don't need to worry about the uninstall part since your old computer does not boot. You will also not need to worry about what bit you are using. Our live installer will auto detect and install the correct version.

I think newer Lenovo computers have Intel Anti-Theft pre-installed. First manually uninstall ESET Smart Security then try the steps below:

 

1. From the Start screen, press the Windows key + W to search for settings.
2. Type Add or remove programs into the search bar and click Add or remove programs from you search results.
3. Look for Intel AT or Intel Anti-Theft.
4. Double click to start the uninstaller.
5. After the uninstall finishes restart the computer and install ESET Smart Security.

First I would try to re-type the username and password. If that does not fix it then clear the update cache. Lastly if you are still getting the same error try to manually uninstall Cyber Security and reinstall. Also what version of OS X are you running?

Check inside %programfiles%\Windows Defender. Do the files inside of the Windows Defender folder have little locks on them?

I have actually seen this 24x7 help application on a computer before. It is a small picture of a man with a headset on and it appears on every window in the top right corner.

24x7 help should be in the Programs and Features list in Control Panel.

Start from your desktop with nothing open and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen

Step 2: In the search box type  appwiz.cpl and hit Enter on the keyboard

Step 3: Find 24x7 or 24x7 help in the list and double click it to start the uninstall process

It is always good to submit any suspicious files even if a scan of them shows up clean. That way the labs can see if the file does anything malicious. Who knows it could be a new infection no one is catching yet.

If you right clicked the zipped file and chose 'Scan with ESET Smart Security' it would have found any known variants that were inside. The log created would have looked like the screen shot attached. Ensure you have the latest virus signature database before scanning.
