  1. Have you confirmed adding an additional drive letter after the fact doesn't create the exclusion after a specified number of time etc ?
  2. Chrome says its bad, or ESET ? Check if you have PUA enabled, as it sometimes catches packages with bundles, see if you can find a direct link or slim package with just TORCH. Or temporarily disable ESET's Potentially unwanted programs detection to download and install Torch. Careful of your download links and hosts.
  3. Just a tid bit of info, Foneil has direct contact with the KB team (if not on the team himself, or maybe a supervisor) but i neither claim nor deny So we will make sure any changes that need to be made, will be made officially, and any feedback you provide is most helpful, thanks. We do have the proof needed to be confident that our post and info/data will be seen by the right people.
  4. Hello, The release in the USA is most likely for the purpose of rolling out in stages; document, record problems missed, assist with support and repair, before rolling out to the ENTIRE world. The support needed to handle the requests, provide solutions, patch the software, write all the KB articles, and be all that they can be, is impossible if not, at least..... will be a very difficult situation to manage as well as requiring additional support. The USA San Diego office, as well as the partner list in the United States is probably far greater in numbers and the available help, and employees that have access to design, implementation, and patching is probably a sufficient size in the USA as it appears to be 2nd in size and accountability next to the Slovakia Home site. This may not be the reason for why it has only released in US as of right now, but its the most logical i can think of, and how i would do it vs sending it out everywhere and see what happens. So we in the US are like trialing it, we're the dummies. We can find these small nuances that are causing problems, get the KB written, and software fixed, then the release for the world is more polished. -Yes it sounds like a BETA, (has been a reply before), which we have already had, yes, but BETA is not a live test environment, the official release to USA is a live environment in production that still can act as a filter for smaller minute things to be fixed. -I am terribly sorry you installed version 5 and learned it, and now on to version 6; however respectively that is a normal process with software, you already know this. Sometimes we get software, then soon after have to upgrade and learn where things were moved etc, its how the ball rolls in Information Technology sometimes. I have to learn 6 as well, while so informed about 5, i almost thought i had it mastered and could answer any questions. Now version 6 lol Except i am an active member here and i am obligated to learn this stuff, to keep up my support and contacts with friends i have gained here. Good luck with version 6 and please don't hesitate to continue your discussions here. They are VERY valuable, and although you might not hear it, we appreciate it and you are right, many more will come to see your posts through SEO, or similar and most likely stumble upon solutions to other problems, thus taking the load off of ESET's official support lines by phone or etc. Thanks Regards,
  5. A lingering absence entirely from the forums indicate work related activities with higher priorities or family matters, and that is ok. ...or personal obligations Glad to wait for a thoughtful response...
  6. Try running a push installation over the top. Do this instead of reinstall or uninstall
  7. Is it still not working ? How many of these CD's do you have from Newegg that are not working ? I would contact support and have them look at the key you have, or PM one of the moderators on the forum here and request validity be checked.
  8. It may have been taken out, and the agent you are referring to is the new independent agent i see, which i don't know too much about. That doesn't mean you won't get a reply from staff, i am sure they will let us know if the agent can be deployed without eset involvement.
  9. If the key has been used before, and it is a key for multiple computers, at the time of activation a password and username are emailed to you during registration. If you no longer have those credentials you can go here to retreive: hxxp://www.eset.com/us/support/lost-license/
  10. Activation keys have 5 segments xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx If you have a validation code xxxx-xxxx-xxxx it needs to be turned into a key.
  11. Deploying or installing the ERAC manually may not be an option or a viable way to perform setup. I may be confused on what you are trying to do or presume is the AGENT.
  12. Yes convert it, or its not valid. It may not give you EAV, it may give you an actual activation key which is also different. activation keys, EAV which included password, and trials are the only 3 methods of activation without ESET staff intervention.
  13. Do you have something like this if it was from Newegg ? Attached:
  14. Hello, Please let us know if your key has this format: EAV-XXXXXXXX or if it has this format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
  15. Verus, A tip that might assist you in manual deployment. * If the MSI package of the ESET Endpoint software and the .XML file of the configuration you wish to be used, reside in the same disk directory, the msi unpacking will install with whatever settings you have set in the XML. To do this, open Configuration Editor in the ERAC, adjust all your settings to your liking. Export the settings as XML. Use your patch management software, PDQDeploy, SCCM, Group Policy etc to deploy the XML and the msi to your endpoints, followed by initiating the client to run the installation. If i had to guess, you could also place both the installation msi, and xml on a shared network drive, and have the clients launch individually, however bandwidth and spreading out the install would come to mind as well. All at the same time would bottle your network up. ESET uses ERAC to deploy, which i think can specify maximum installations at once.
  16. Verus, if you have endpoints that are not configured UP FRONT to access the ERA server, your only choice is to change the settings manually at the endpoint by RDP or walking to them. If, however this is not an option, you have to redeploy the installation with a new configuration that has the correct ERA server IP or host embedded in the settings. If they are all looking at another ERA, they will NEVER check in to your "new" ERA server without a new push installation, having new config set. Sorry for the inconvenience, but logically that is how it works.
  17. Hello verus, When you say network segment, do you mean a client with a different subnet ? or a client receiving an IP from a totally different DHCP server or router etc ? If the server can see the client and if the client is able to communicate with the ERA server, i am pretty sure it will work as you hope.
