  1. Hi,

    We found that starting from version 7 we can`t download english version of msi installer and it detects language by system locale.

    We are deploying EEA via Software Install task

    How we can select which language should be installed? By default we want to install en-US version

  2. Hi,

    I have a problem. After upgrade or fresh install of ESET agent I have an error in task executions tab:

    image.thumb.png.8731c29394c683b88aabf66b959add69.png

    But if I copy EEA installer and then run it locally I can install antivirus without any restart.

    Is it a bug?

    I have an issue.. Because I am setup an installation task for EEA 7.x when computer is joining to a dynamic group. Dynamic group base on dynamic template and detects an agent version. If an agent is 7.x and host have not an agent 6.x then I want to install EEA 7.x

    But I have this error. And as I understand correctly if the task is failed, then I need to run installation task again manually in ESMC

  3. Hi,

    We have SCCM server in our infrastructure. I am successfully created a new app deployment on it.

    But I have a problem with supersedence. When i select checkbox to uninstall previous version of agent new installation is fails

    When I am trying to check whats wrong and run a command manually uninstall task just closes with out any information.

    image.png.98aed3e3eae3a3471d7ce67a17b6e2c5.png

    In Event viewer looks like it was uninstalled:

    image.thumb.png.898c85f4ca12f3f3d25dd8432dc7aba0.png

    But Agent still in the system and installation of new Eset Management Agent fails in SCCM Software Center because it detects previous version of agent.

    If I am unmark checkbox then ESET management Agent installed successfully but old ERA agent also still in the system..

    Old agent has a password. Can I push in some way a password in command string or in .bin file for example to uninstall agent?

    I think this is my problem. Because agent is password-protected

    This is unlikely to happen.

    • If there is no Agent on the client, it can not be evaluated and assigned under a dynamic group. Therefor you have no triggering mechanism on those computers. (It is not possible to trigger a task when a new computer joins a static group)
    • Other problem is, that you would need to have the same Administrator password on each client (so the Server task's settings are working on each).

    I have all the rights on clients. Just need to check once a week if all online computers has agent and I want to decide on which workstation I need antivirus software. Sometimes users reinstalling own workstations without our support. We`re deploying OS with agent and etc. via SCCM.

    I don`t want to reinstall agents on computers that already has it. If I will start agent deployment on All group? Then ERA will reinstall agents on workstations that has it already?

  5. Hi,

    Is it possible to group queries for dynamic group templates?

    For example I want to sort clients by Endpoint Antivirus version and also by ERA Agent version:

    {

    Installed Software.Application name contains Endpoint Antivirus

    Installed Software.Application Version equal 6.3.2016.0

    }

    AND

    {

    Installed Software.Application name contains Eset Remote Administrator Agent

    Installed Software.Application Version equal 6.4.283.0

    }

  6. If you execute the task manually, either on the client, or by the task from ERA, the currently selected profile is used.

    The scheduled task, which allows to configure two profiles runs automatically, and tries the first profile, then the second profile, per its configuration.

    Maybe a question - when you mean, that updates are downloaded from "ERA server" means that you have a local mirror tool, or use the HTTP Proxy for updating?

    HTTP Proxy from All-in-One package

  7. Hi,

    I want to ask a question what is the best practice how you can configure dual updates with ERA?

    I`ve configured dual updates like it`s described in this kb: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3621/

    but I noticed that if in policy during the configuration was selected second profile and the configuration was saved, than if you choose Update Now in antivirus it always checks for updates over the Internet. But the most important thing is that if you run the task for updating the anti-virus from the ERA server, antivirus also starts to  check for updates via the Internet, when client is in the local network and ERA server available.
    The task for the update, which is configured in the scheduler is working properly.

    Then I decided to change the selected profile in the configuration to the first profile "My Profile" and saved the policy again. In this case, if you check the settings of antivirus, now in update tab the "My Profile" is visible. Now, when  manually click Update Now it every time looking for updates from ERA Server . If from ERA server we run the job to update the antivirus it also looking for update from ERA Server.
    But if the job is running through the scheduler, then all is well, if the ERA server is not available, updates are downloaded from the Internet.

    However, with this configuration, I noticed that the anti-virus produces an error, it was not possible to check for updates. However, I did not start the update manually, but later it automatically downloads updates, if the client is not in the local network or ERA is not available.

    My question is how  is better to configure the policy updates to clients rocked updates from the Internet, if the ERA server is unavailable and does not receive a notice that it was not possible to update the database?

    How do you configure a policy in this case?

  8. Hi,

    During every weekend backup we`ve receive attentions from Endpoint about threat. I`ve alredy added this folder to the exceptions, but Endpoint inform us about the same files in VSS:

    Object URI

    file:////Device/HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy225/...

    So my question is how to add the path for VSS to the exceptions? Should I use file:////Device/*.* ?
