  1. Hello Ester, There is both a free and paid version of the product. You can view this page: hxxp://www.eset.com/int/home/products/mobile-security-android/ - for a comparison of the two (android). As far as I know, the paid version will convert to the free when the license expires.
  2. Thanks for your response Marcos. I assume your are using the default setting of The Bat!'s own internal certificate store and imported the ESET certificate there. I have done that and do not get that error. I have also tried changing that default setting within The Bat! to use Windows certificate store as ESET automatically imports its certificate there. I do not get that error that way either. I receive my emails both ways with no errors but ESS is not scanning them.
  3. Hello, I have used The Bat! for e-mail along with ESS for years now and SSL protocol filtering has always worked very well with no issues. Upon updating The Bat! from version 6.0.12 to 6.1.2, ESS is no longer scanning the e-mails. No settings have changed with ESS. I tried a repair install of ESS but problem was still present. I then did a complete uninstall of ESS (including running the uninstall tool in safe mode), did a fresh install and complete new set-up of advanced settings, but the issue is still there. This morning The Bat! updated to version 6.1.4 but still no scanning of e-mails. I have tried using both The Bat!'s own internal certificate store and Window's certificate store settings within The Bat!, but still no scanning of e-mails. I do not know if maybe a module has changed within ESS to cause this or not, I do use the pre-release versions of the modules. I do know that The Bat! with version 6.1.2 changelog is: New features TLS 1.1 SSL 3.0 Import of Exchange contacts from MS Outlook Added support for hardware CRAM-MD5 (token) authentication in IMAP Improvements Split messages aren't automatically combined in IMAP folders Faster message retrieval over POP3 with large volumes of messages kept on the server A high-resolution version of the main program icon has been added Fixes Additional images could not be attached after an image had been removed from the HTML-message body Switching to HTML tab did hide tab pane when message is viewed in separate window Improper displaying of addresses with paired double quotes Setting message tags with the "Message|Tags|More tags" command was broken Wrong editor format indication when the %SetEditor macro was used The SMTP option "Do not store password, prompt on retrieval" now functions properly Import from Google Contacts was partial in some cases Import from Microsoft Outlook Express address book didn't work properly It wasn't possible to make program associations in Windows XP Smileys and Rogues were inactive Bugs in the dial-up access functionality have been fixed (#0000243) "Invalid Pointer Operation" on every other call of Print Time in Cron format was incorrectly handled in the Scheduler Export of addressbook as text or csv generates UTF-8 without BOM for MS Excel, it leads to wrong non-latin characters Cannot upgrade from 5.8.8 to 6.x using eToken OTFE Fixed exception when drag-n-drop ABD file from Win Explorer to white region of address books list TLS connections with some servers didn't work. I figure with these changes in The Bat! something has caused the scanning to break, but should not ESS still be scanning POP3S on port 995 even if The Bat! made changes? Any help and ideas on how to get POP3S scanning on port 995 for e-mail (SSL protocol filtering) working again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....
  4. Thank you for the follow-up foneil. I appreciate it. It is good to know even if it seems like an excessive amount of logs being stored. Now to wait a bit and see what happens once the 128 logs are reached...
  5. Thanks Marcos, I am fairly sure that when I lost my settings and noticed the certificate change, I had not disabled and re-enabled SSL scanning. I cannot say for sure so I will keep a close watch if this situation happens again on my system. I assume from your answer that the certificate does not change at any other time, only if you disable and then re-enable the SSL scanning and that the certificate change will not affect the SSL settings (will only need to import the new certificate to replace previously imported certificates).
  6. Thanks foneil, It is not a real big deal but if you have EMS set to scan daily, you can accumulate a fair number of logs. If you are on a low end smart phone with not much storage, you tend to watch what is going on to keep as much storage free as possible. The size of the logs are probably minimal so it would not make a large amount of difference.
  7. Hello, I understand that manual deletion of logs is not possible. Just to clarify and fully understand, does EMS for Android ever automatically delete any of the log files, and if so what is the trigger (i.e. 90 logs)?
  8. Hello, I have had this happen twice on my system. Both times I discovered that the ESET certificate had changed. I have two programs that I have to import the ESET certificate into for the SSL scanning to work. When I lost all of my certificate settings, I found that the certificates that I had imported into those two programs were now not the same as the one being used by ESS. I had to delete those, import the new certificates, and re-save all of the exclusions and trusted certificates that I lost. Perhaps the losing of these settings has something to do with ESS getting a new/different ESET certificate and putting it to use. Just an idea as a new/different certificate has been a common factor when I have lost my settings.
  9. Thanks, that is what I was thinking but I wanted to be sure that I had not overlooked it...
  10. Hello, I was fairly sure in previous versions (prior to 2.0) that there was a way to delete scan logs. In current version (2.0 +) I cannot seem to find a way to delete scan logs. Maybe I am just not seeing it, so if I am, can anyone point out if there is a way to delete the scan logs? I now have 30 logs and growing. There seems to be no automatic deletion nor anyway to manually delete them.
  11. Hello, @Trooper - Thanks for your reply... @Marcos - Thanks, eagerly awaiting the announcement that this noted suggestion has now been planned for implementation !!!
  12. Hello, Same issue here, automatic updates stating up-to-date. Go to Tools>Scheduler and "last run" shows automatic update just ran. Virus Radar shows update available. Manual check for update works and downloads latest update. It does repeat itself. Stopped updating at 9035. Manually updated to 9036 after automatic update says up-to-date. Virus radar says 9037 available but automatic update says up-to-date. Manually updated to current 9037. For some reason automatic update always saying up-to-date and must manually update in order to have latest updates. Any ideas?
  13. Hello, I guess I must be missing something as far as the tests/reviews I have read about EMS 2.0 in regards to a web console. I had thought it would be a welcomed addition in making a great product even greater. However after 3 weeks and in excess of 40 views since my original post, I am beginning to wonder if that many actual users want this additional feature. I am both surprised by the lack of interest from both users and ESET staff. I must assume that the silence from ESET is implying, at least for now, that this feature is not in the works nor being considered. It is such a shame since a web console is offered by almost all other major security companies...
  14. Hello, I have just noticed something concerning the scheduled scans and the logs that are generated that can be a bit on the confusing side. Under the "Scan Logs" the time of the actual scan is referred to as either "Today", "Yesterday", or then the actual date along with the time in all three cases. If I for example have the scheduled scan set to 10 PM, then that would be the time that shows in the scan logs. The confusing bit is when the scan log refers to "Today" or "Yesterday". Say last night my scheduled scan ran at 10 PM as expected. If I the looked at the scan log it would say today at 10 PM which I would expect. Now lets say I get up the next morning and check my scan logs for last nights scan. One would expect it to now say yesterday at 10 PM since it is now the next day, but it still says today at 10 PM, which in fact being the morning, 10 PM is not even here yet so how could it be logging a scan for a future time? It seems the today and yesterday do not work on the standard clock/calendar but work on a 24 and 48 hour time period respectively from the last scan. It would be a lot less confusing if the today and yesterday nomenclature actually referred to the normal daily calendar or the actual date was always displayed instead.
  15. Hello Peter, The customer care form with logs was just sent referencing this thread. If you need my device's email address, I will gladly send it to you via PM. Thanks.
  16. Hello, You can see this post by Aryeh Goretsky here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/51-future-changes-to-eset-smart-security/page-3#entry3474 for more information on XP end of life...
  17. Hello Peter, Thanks for your reply! Since the scans are scheduled daily and the issue is random and sometimes takes a few days to reappear, it may take a few days for the issue to happen again but as soon as it happens I will submit the logs.
  18. Hello, I really like the new version however I am having one issue/bug with it. I have scheduled scans set to be done on a daily basis. Randomly scans are missed or skipped. For example, Maybe for two or three days scans go fine and I can see the results in the logs. The next time I check the logs say a few days later, no scans were done for two or three days and then they had started again. The time between missed scans and how many that are missed in a row are both totally random with no pattern. Uninstall and reboot of the phone, the a fresh install yields no better results as the issue/bug is still present. There are no other security apps of any kind on the phone and I have the scan scheduled at a time where the phone is not in power saving mode. My device is a HTC One SV C525c running Android 4.1.2.
  19. Hello, I thought (and probably a lot of others) that version 2 would bring along with it a web console. ESET is one of the few (if not only one) that do have a web console for their mobile platform. Even AV Comparatives in their most recent tests made a comment that the only suggestion they had and the only thing the product lacked was a web console. Are there any plans to make this feature available in a future update? I know in my case it is very hard to get to someone with a mobile if I needed to test or use the anti-theft/privacy features...
  20. Hello, Rename your rar file by adding .txt to the end, for example you have your compressed log file log.rar, rename it to log.rar.txt and then you should be able to upload it. HTH...
  21. Hello, Here is the way I understand it: Buy Smart Security = Windows only Buy Cyber Security + Mac only Buy Mobile Security = Only for whichever you purchased it for (Android or Windows Mobile or Symbian) Buy Family Security Pack = For Windows and Mac and Android So basically if you purchased a 3 computer license of Smart Security, that is Windows only... HTH...
  22. Hello, I had received several VSD updates this morning according to my logs but no module updates showed in the logs and the "about" screen did not show 1406 for the antivirus and antispyware scanner module. I also was never prompted to do a reboot. I went ahead and rebooted anyways and now have 1406 and the issue is fixed. So for my case I would say to just do a reboot and you should be good to go.
  23. Hello, Go to advanced settings > computer > antivirus and antispyware > on-demand computer scan, selecting which profile you use then selecting threatsense engine parameter setup > other and then check "log all objects".
  24. Hello, It just seems that not enough files are being scanned (IMHO) and what is being scanned is being done in an extremely short period of time (again IMHO). I am sorry that I can not offer any more advice on this issue but I am sure either someone more knowledgeable or from ESET will come along soon with help. Just have a bit of patience as most of the ESET staff will not be back for about 8 to 10 hours or so. I am confident that they will solve your issue.
