  1. Hello Marcos, True. SysRescue is also available as a "Live CD" however it is not fully compatible with all OS as detailed in KB Solution ID: SOLN3509 here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3509... "Available soon" was stated back in October of 2014 and so far no word on when a new fully compatible "Live CD" will be available or whether it is fully compatible with Windows 10 since 8/8.1 is not...
  2. Hello, I know all of the modules have been updated on ESS and NOD32 to make them compatible with Windows 10 TP. ESS is working great here on my Windows 10 TP snapshot. That said, this is just meant as a heads up of a SysRescue issue. There is a new ADK for Windows 10 TP also which I installed. When trying to create a SysRescue disk, the creator does not find the ADK files automatically and when trying to enter the path manually the process results in an error (cannot locate files). Again this is not a criticism but just a heads up as I know Windows 10 is not yet "officially" supported but I wanted to let you know of the issue in case you were unaware. Thanks...
  3. Hello FriggGuðrún, You may want to try to export ESET settings before doing the update and then after doing the update, import the settings back. I have done this in the past and it works for me so it should in your specific case also. You can find more information on this in the ESET KB Solution ID: SOLN3133 found here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3133 HTH...
  4. Hello Fifaheld, Do you have pre-release updates enable in ESET? See post # 2 https://forum.eset.com/topic/3815-windows-10/#entry22202
  5. Hello, As reported in this thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/3993-ask-nod32-v8-running-for-windows-10-tp-build-9926/
  6. Hello, Thanks for the post User. I can confirm that with the mentioned pre-release modules ESET is now running without issues here on Windows 10 TP 9926 Pro 64 bit.
  7. Hello paskal, When you go to reply to this thread, instead of typing into the "Reply to this topic" box at the bottom of the page, click on "More Reply Options". You will then see an "Attach Files" option where you can click on "Choose Files..." to browse to the file you want to paste/upload and select it. HTH...
  8. Hello Marcos, I have a favor to ask you as I have been seeing issues with ESS8 (pre-release updates) and the Windows 10 TP 9926 build (I have just started running the two together but have at the moment removed ESS8 due to these issues). Since the pre-release module updates are not posted anywhere (that I know of anyways), could you please post in this thread when they go live with the fixes so I can install ESS8 again and test it? I would very much appreciate it as I would like to get ESS8 back up and running as soon as the new modules are released. Thanks in advance if you could do this...
  9. Hello Morgan Jerome, The first thing I would try is the manual uninstall instructions located here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1420558043767 and see if that helps. Let us know how it goes... HTH...
  10. Hello manodepo, First of all, it is Windows that disables Defender. Whenever Windows sees another AV register itself to the action center/security center, Windows then automatically disables Defender (at least in Windows 8/8.1 which I assume that you are using - not sure how this is handled by other Windows versions). Next off, I personally do not know a way to enable Defender short of removing ESET from your system. I do know of one AV (Webroot) that will supply you with a registry hack so you can run Webroot and Defender at the same time. As far as I know, this does not exist for ESET. Hopefully an ESET moderator (or someone more knowledgeable than myself) can give you a definitive answer., but as far as I know you must remove ESET in order to run Defender...
  11. Hello gozonablat, In NOD32, go to "Setup > Enter advanced setup... > Update > Settings", select "Pre-release update", then click "OK". Now update NOD32. Once update has completed, you will now have the pre-release modules that should be compatible with Windows 10.
  12. Hello, Quote from: ESET Knowledgebase Article #3509, "How do I use ESET SysRescue Live to clean my computer?" Is there an ETA when a fully functioning version will be available for these operating systems?
  13. Hello Wallaby, Self Defense is part of HIPS, so it is covered by the HIPS module. HTH...
  14. Hello Robert1170, According to the following two sites: hxxp://www.virusradar.com/en/update/info hxxp://www.eset.com/us/threat-center/threatsense-updates/ The current VSD is: NOD32 - v.10445 (September 20, 2014) At this moment there has not been any VSD updates since September 20, 2014. Do you have VSD 10445? If so, you are up to date. HTH...
  15. Hello, I originally posted this in the version 8 beta thread here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/2984-eset-smart-security-and-eset-nod32-antivirus-8-beta-available/page-8#entry18293 Since posting it there, I realized this also applied to version 7 and was not only apliccable to the version 8 beta. I should have originally posted this here which is probably the more correct thread for it. For that reason, I am also posting it here so it may get the proper attention.
  16. Hello, My comment is about the Idle State scanning. I would probably use it except for one thing, the scan process never ends. As soon as it finishes one scan, it will start another. I know this is probably by design and considered a feature, but it would be good to have an option to space the idle state scanning out and not have it continuously running. For example, have an option to select how often it should run, say once in a 3 day, 4 day, or 5 day, etc. period. In my case, I would like it to scan and once it had finished, instead of just starting another scan, only run once in any 7 day period. I know I can schedule a scan on a weekly basis but that works a bit differently. On the weekly scheduled scan, it scans whether the computer is idle or not, and if missed, I can set the option to scan as soon as possible which means basically on the next reboot. My system stays on for days at a time and I have seen the scheduled weekly scan missed by sometimes a week or more due to this. The idle state scan with the option to only scan once in a given period of time would solve this as well as have the actual scanning only happening during idle times on your system. This is just an observation as to a possible improvement and better functionality...
  17. Hello dar-#c5FDcg5, First, go to the main GUI, then "Tools > Log files > Personal firewall". Right click in the log window and click "Delete all". (See first screenshot below)... Second, to keep this from happening again, right click tray icon and click "Advanced setup". Go to "Network > Personal firewall > IDS and advanced options > Troubleshooting" and be sure these are not checked (that is the default setting and should not be checked unless you need to troubleshoot the firewall as logging can make the logs grow to large sizes) (See second screenshot below)... HTH and feel free to ask more questions if you have any. Let us know if this helps...
  18. Hello, Interesting... I am on an English OS (Windows 8.1.1 Pro 64 bit), have the latest English version of Smart Security installed (7.0.317.4), and I am in the United States. The "Training" option does not appear in the ESET GUI on my system. There must be something more to who has it or not...
  19. Hello Wathen, You are most welcome ...
  20. Hello, See this thread for some information: https://forum.eset.com/topic/1798-eset-7-and-win7-wake-from-sleep/ HTH...
  21. Hello Marcos, I may be being a bit overly cautious but I have a question for you in regards to ESS and Windows 8.1 Update 1 that is being released this coming Tuesday. You mention a minor update to ESS is coming soon to ESS concerning support for this Microsoft update. Will the minor update to ESS with 8.1 Update 1 support be released before the Microsoft update this Tuesday? If not, are there any issues we should be concerned about where you would recommend us to hold off on installing Update 1 until ESET releases this update? I ask as I have not seen many reports of anyone testing the current version of ESS with Update 1 and was wondering if there are issues where we should hold off installing Update 1 until ESS with support for this is released? Thanks in advance...
  22. Hello, I asked my question because this thread seemed it was referencing version 2. I have version 3 beta and have not seen any issues but am unsure if this issue may effect me. Also I have not seen a version 3 beta program update.
  23. Hello, I am assuming this issue and version update only applies to EMS 2 and not the EMS 3 beta?
  24. Hello, Are you using "Advanced setup > Web and email > Protocol filtering > SSL > Always scan SSL protocol"? If so, you will need to exclude the RoboForm certificate by switching to "Ask about non-visited sites (exclusions can be set)" with option "Apply created exceptions based on certificates" checked and exclude the RoboForm certificate. Once done you can change the setting back to "Always scan SSL protocol". Edit: to correct typos...
  25. Hello, SweX explained it all very well in his post above. At the time of your post, I have received four VSD updates (not two) this weekend (9428, 9429, 9430, and 9431). Are you currently on VSD 9431? If not, you may want to clear your update cache and try updating again... Edited to add: I just checked on Virus Radar and indeed there have been four updates so far this weekend...
