Please generate and provide a Wireshark pcap log from an activation attempt. Most likely a firewall or proxy is preventing ESET from reaching the activation servers.

Error 1922. The service 'ESET Service' (ekrn) cannot be removed. Make sure you have sufficient permissions to remove system services.

What ESET product and version do you use? Does temporarily pausing protection make a difference? If not, does the issue go away after temporarily uninstalling ESET and returns as soon as you install it with default settings?

Did you run an in-depth or smart scan? If you want to perform a quicker scan, turn off scanning of archives and sfx archives.

Yes, the agent communicates with the security product automatically. There's no setting in the security product or agent that would need to be configured or enabled to establish the communication.

The ESET Online Scanner does not install in the system. All you need to do to is delete its folder manually if you don't want to keep it.

You can't install and activate version 9 which is not even listed at https://support-eol.eset.com/en/policy_home/product_tables.html. V10 reached EOL in 2019.
Please install v16.0.28 and disable the application status about outdated OS in the advanced setup.

According to the logs you've supplied, there was only one on-demand scan ran on 2024-01-15, 13:32.
There's a scan task "Full System Scan" scheduled which has ignoring of exclusions disabled. Moreover, it has probably never run or ran just once since there's only one on-demand scan log in C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Security\Logs\eScan.
