  1. Appears there are multiple causes involved here. The ones mentioned are: 1. Windows update cache issues. 2. Eset update cache issues. 3. You name it ........... Eset needs to provide built-in diagnostic capability for problems like this and other issues. Think along the line of Windows 10 "Fix-It" wizards. I for one am tired of the constant requests for Eset logs to diagnose product issues.

    Detections Actions Error

Please raise a support ticket with your ESET UK. It's probably caused by the update of the Translation support module yesterday, however, I don't have this problem myself so there must be also something else that triggers the issue.

  3. As I posted in another thread on this issue after I deleted the Win 10 update cache, I have had no further issues with Eset detection updates. I had one delay of 5 mins. at boot time and that's it.

    MyEset account taken over

The type of 2FA I want is the same as my bank provides and it does not require a smart phone to use. When I log onto my bank web site, it requires me to select which phone number I have registered with them to receive a text message from them that contains a 6 digit security code. I can also receive a voice call containing the code instead. They then send me the code to my "vintage" non-smart phone. I then enter the code on the web page and the logon to the full bank web site proceeds. Note the 2FA elements deployed. The first is valid user id and password. The second is a one-time use served up security code.

  6. A problem in gui requires compilation of a brand new version, thorough QA testing of all languages (about 40), releasing the installers on the web and slowly releasing upgrade to the new version via uPCU. This kind of issues cannot be fixed via module updates but requires a new version of the product.

  7. I feel the same itman, especially because rarely anything comes out of it!

  8. I understand that it shouldn't affect system performance, but nobody likes to have a problem like that on their computer screen, that's why it should be fixed quickly, don't wait for the next version of the antivirus.

  9. I'd merely add that the known issue is a visual glitch that has no effect on system performance.

  10. Hello guys, I was checking the status of the issue with ESET icon spinning and reporting that product update is in progress even though it was already completed. The issue is not yet completely fixed, so there is still work on our side to fix it fully. (P_EESW-7608) As of now we do not need further logs as it seems the root cause is known to the dev team. I apologize for the confusion as I said it should be fixed in the latest version... Peter

    Stuck Eset Product Update

Same never-ending product update happens on one of my machines. Real PITA. Rebooting is the only thing that gets ESET out of update stuck mode. Happens periodically. Probably happens to a great many users and they don't see the sys tray icon spinning and realize the sluggishness is due to ESET.

  12. I didn't do that but I did disable Eset from notifying about Windows updates and it seems to have gotten better.

  13. The bug is Eset known and is not only since the current build!

  14. A while back I recall an answer to the problem of continually spinning ESET icon showing update in progress when it isn't. The solution that worked for me was: Open ESET>Setup>Advanced Setup (lower right corner)>Update>Under Basic - clear the update cache>click OK>Restart your computer and all should be well. Hopefullly!

  15. As I've mention elsewhere the updates seem a lot quicker for me as of late. However right now I am seeing Eset is updating itself according to the icon (spinning disk and says so when hovering over it). However I watched the update myself and it finished fine with eset showing the correct update time for the last update. Running an update manually also shows there are no updates but the icon still shows as updating

  16. Wondering why my weekly scan did not seem to run - I investigated the settings only to discover that my instruction to scan weekly at 5:00 PM shows scan at 5:00 PM Fridays Next scan 3:00AM on 21/08/2021! that equates to 3:00 AM next Saturday not 5:00 PM Friday. I have been a user for at least 12 years with ESET and have always had an automatic scan at the correct time of 5:00 but lately have noticed no scan occurring. I only just updated today to Ver. 14.2.24.0 but I have noticed this for a few weeks now so it may not be solely related to this latest version. It is almost like ESET is not following my local computer time but using US or European time??? Anyone else had this problem? regards
